Which MCU hero had the best Origin film?

Best Solo MCU origin film?

Iron Man with Dr Strange as a close second, mostly because it has nearly the same plot and main character as Iron Man ( watch the honest trailer - and it becomes even more apparent when you see Stark and Strange's scenes together in infinity war).

Iron Man isn't just a great origin film, but a great super hero film period - it pretty much created a formula which has defined the MCU - hats off to that I say, because having a one off success is great but repeating that success is really impressive ( and the MCU has done that .....ironically though not for Iron Man 2 and 3 which sucked donkeys).

Cheers.

Black Panther for me. I think Iron Man and Dr Strange deserve a special mention and are not for off, IMO.

Doctor Strange, with Iron Man and Cap as close seconds.

"GOTG should be on the poll".

....Not sure how some of you missed the poll question. Its in a sizeable font.

I haven't seen Captain Marvel. It's a fight between Iron Man and Captain American. I'll go with Iron Man. I have a tendency to enjoy the origin films more than the sequels with many of the Marvel heroes.

Yeah, we can read thanks. You also titled the thread "which MCU hero had the best origin film" and the Guardians of the Galaxy are a perfectly valid answer for that one.

As for the poll, overall best MCU origin film would've been a more interesting question. No need to phrase it to exclude GotG.

You and a few others aren't very good at it, apparently. Between what the poll is asking, the initial post, and the fact that the usage of "Hero" in the thread title isn't plural, its pretty clear that this thread is about solo heroes specifically. The GOTG are a group...hence why they're not a poll option, and neither are The Avengers, for that matter.

Iron Man, Capt America: The First Avenger, and Thor: The First Thor are all really close in my mind. They are probably my favorite non-"Avengers" titles of the whole series.

Iron man
Black Panther
Captain Marvel.

Dude, I read the poll as being the origin for a single character. GOTG vol 1 is easily the best team origin film ever ( besides maybe Magnificent Seven).

Oh wait, sorry, I misread your post. :D

Anyway, I'm sure that most folks like myself read these things between breaks at work or only glance at them quickly - so no need to criticize anyone's reading.

I'm not that sure that Black Panther counts as an origin story.

Neither Thor.

Am I nitpicking? yes.

See, you read the poll correctly. Most people did. It's just a few that didn't.

On the topic of team origin films, why do I get the feeling that alot of people don't consider Avengers 1 a team origin film?

Avengers is definitely a team origin film - IMO an overrated one, although the last 40 minutes is pretty awesome.

GOTG is the best MCU team origin film...although there really aren't any big screen MCU teams besides the Avengers and GOTG.

As for this thread, I'm sticking with Iron Man, and Dr Strange a close second ( mostly because it's Iron Man ....on LSD!)

Cheers.

Super tough choice. Right now it’s a three way tie between Iron Man, Cap, and Black Panther.

I initially walked out of Black Panther mildly disappointed but the more I watch it the more I realize how nearly flawless it is. Fix that CG and don’t kill Andy Serkis and I have no real issues with it.

Totally agree on keeping Klaus alive. A great villain who did a lot with a tiny bit of screen time. Plus I've met Andy Serkis and he is such a nice guy!

I agree as well: partly because Klaue was indeed a great villain, and partly out of sympathy for my sister, who has a huge crush on Andy Serkis and was devastated by Klaue’s death.

Well then, allow me to properly answer your title question of "Which MCU hero had the best origin film?":

Whether you phrase the poll to exclude it or not, GotG is still an awesome MCU origin film. Clearly a few of us wanted to say so.

You keep harboring some weird idea that I phrased the poll a certain way just to exclude one movie. It's especially silly to me because I like GOTG more than any other film on this poll.

And no, a few of you clearly mistook this for a generalized "Best origin" poll. But its cool. You like GOTG, so do I.
