Fellowship. I also think the Majestic(extremely underrated movie) would be in my top 5.

Fellowship is for squares. Mulholland Drive is where it's at!

I voted "Other," for Monsters Inc. My sentimental Pixar favorite.

Surprised it didn't make the list...:csad:

I really liked K-Pax, though. Probably my 2nd place vote.

I voted for Mulholland Drive. There's not a week that goes by where I don't still think about that film. Sometimes still in puzzlement, but there's plenty of dream logic in the film that it rewards paying attention to.

Fellowship of the Ring is a fine choice. It's still my favorite of the LotR films, as I think it's the one with the least amount of issues with being true to itself and the books.

Gosford Park probably won't pick up many votes, but it's a favorite of mine. Great acting, a great ensemble, and Altman in terrific form. A not too subtle nod to one of Altman's primary influences as well, Rules of the Game.

Gosford Park is excellent too.

Not a lot of Altman love round these parts though. :down

Oh, and those considering OTHER, significant movies left off the poll.

Monsters, Inc.
Spirited Away
Waking Life
Amelie
Ghost World
The Man Who Wasn't There
In the Bedroom
The Pledge
Frailty
Enemy at the Gates

Holy crap! I totally forgot about Ghost World! Why the hell isn't it on the poll? Oh right, I forgot that this whole poll is a big ol' joke!

Wow. I did not expect any Mulholland Drive fans here at all. Its truly a masterpiece.

Not a big Rings fan, but Fellowship still wows me every time I see it. Got to give it my vote.

Fellowship of the Ring is not my favourite of the LOTR films, but it is the only one that I truly felt was the best picture of the year. It says more about the competition than anything, and LOTR as a whole I believe will go down as the most significant franchise of the decade.

I loved a lot: Fellowship of the Ring, Spirited away, Amelie, The Others, Mosters Inc, Monster's ball, K-Pax, Black hawk down, Shrek, Moulin Rouge, and A beautiful mind.

My favorite is Fellowship of the Ring. To me those movies are instant classics and they're like the Star Wars of this decade. Fellowship is also my favorite of the trilogy.

K-Pax was an interesting movie.

Its a really good movie. I think its really underrated...and I love Kevin Spacey's performance as Prot. Jeff Bridges did good also.

Let me get this straight. "Monsters Inc" was left off the poll, but "Joe Dirt" and F***ING "Corky Romano" are up there?!

And the next few years will be dominated by LOTR.

****, I forgot about Spirited Away. It's a masterwork.

Mulholland Dr. still takes the year, though. It's not even a competition.

I was going to put it on but I already had Shrek which is probablt better. Monters Inc. wasn't even the best animated film so why bother?

Besides, i couldn't omit Corky Romano.

...or 3000 Miles to Graceland, Jurassic Park III or Serendipity. Seriously, why not kick off one of those and let voters actually decide whether Monsters Inc. was the best animated film or not.

Ugh. This whole series of threads is a new Hype low for film polls.

This reasoning only works with less amount of choices, where every movie in the poll is a great one. Spirited Away is better than Shrek. Does that mean Shrek shouldnt be on the poll?
