I'm sure you all remember the special effects bar of the second film, which was that the "worst shot of the second film has to be as good as the best shot of the first film". Will they be adopting this philosophy for the 3rd film? And if so, what do you consider to be the best shot of the 2nd film, and what scene in the 3rd do you think it will be comparable to?

They definetly have to bring it up a notch, I mean two of the three villains are practically dependant on special effects.

Um...what??

I'm ******ed and fudged up the title.

It's supposed to be "Best shot of 2 = Worst shot of 3"

OOOOOh. LOL! Change the title of the first post to what you meant and the actual title will change.

I've always thought that the best shot of Spider-Man 2 was the shot right before Pete lost his powers and fell down onto the roof of a building. It was slow-mo-ish, and was a close-up of Spidey's head. It probably wasn't CGI, but it was freaking beautiful.

The worst shot, IMO (which again, isn't a CGI shot), was when Spidey jumped up and swung away after saving the two kids from being ran over by the truck. It was a really awkward launch, where it seemed like the webbing yanked him up instead of him yanking himself up. Watch it and you'll see what I mean.

OMG I thought I was the only one who saw that, I laughed my ass off at that it was so freaking horrible.

Yeah...that shot was pretty bad.

My opinion is the shot of Doc Ock dying in the water and the lights going out on the tenticles is the best. So sad. I tear up every time.

Doctor Cocktopus is scheduled for a return, no? Or was this debunked...?

NEway the best cinammontograpy in the first movie = the traffic scene to fight the burglar. In the second movie it had to be the train sequence, or maybe even that nuclear atomic thing sucking up everything. That looked way apocalyptic.

That was debunked for now. And that is very rude, spelling the name like that. It's vulgar.

I'd say it has to top the wallcrawling. I actually don't remember much wallcrawling in part 2, a lot of frog hopping and sticking to walls, but amazing wall crawling, I don't much remember... so lots more of that raimi, thanks.

Ditko was the master of portraying the balance and grace of Spidey; the movie should really learn how a master does it. The scenes that were illustrated were revolutionary.

Well there was alot, I like when he is climbing the wall, and then falls down in 2. Also when he is on top of the building and he is looking down.

more wallcrawling damnit. I want to see wall crawling like that test CGI footage from spiderman 1. They should have him crawling like that.. all close to the wall instead of hopping up the wall. The closest thing ive seen to spiderman starting to crawl like he usually does it in the train scene where he starts to climb down the side of the train right before doc ock comes out from the other side and knocks him off onto the street. Other than that.. all the wall crawling scenes werent very spidery. I want to see a shot of him wallcrawling on a ceiling upside down and you see him sneaking around above some thug while the camera is situated on the floor looking up.

I think Sandman's effects will blow all of us away
Yeah, I have a feeling he will look awesome. Hopefully Venom will too.

Ive always felt like the very beginning of Spider-Man 2, Spidey looks really bad and you can tell he's CGI. espically when he's swinging around with the pizza boxes. and then out of nowhere almost everything looks amazing in the movie.

whats up with that?

Kinda like when Spidy shows up at Ock's place, where Spidey's up on the arch on the ceiling in the foreground, and he creeps across in silence? That was a good shot, too.

the first show you're talking about was CGI and looked very fake, i thought.

i prefer scene's of the actual stunt double doing things. like your "worst shot", is something i like. it may look awkward, but it's still cool to see a REAL person and not a cartoon doing some webslinging. even with the fighting -- i love to see the actual people doing it, rather than CGI.

great shot in SM2 is when spidey is going to meet ock, and the camera pans out of ock's glasses. beautiful shot.

worst = when spidey is thrown into the train during the fight, bounces off the wall and swings around the poll. the CGI was veryyyyy fake looking and looked silly with the backdrop of real people.

In SM2 when doc ock was on the train, some of the shot looked pretty CGI'ish, especially when two passengers were thrown out of the train and spidey had to web them so they wouldnt fall, it didnt look very good. But i guess thats the best they could have managed.

i dont get this thread but seriously the greatest shot of any of the movies is when the green goblin comes to get Aunt May, i find it so funny when shes praying and just suddenly starts screeching, its hilarioussssssss

Is John Dykstra still working on this picture? Or is there another visual effects supervisor?

i always thought that spidey looked a bit rubbery in sm2, and he looked more skinny and agile in sm1. oh yeah i think the shot of him out of the ally with the pizzas sucks! otherwise, pure brilliance.
