Where do you think this movie will rank in terms of all-time movies? I feel like it's definitely the best cast...it would take a lot to beat out the Dark Knight for me but if any movie can do it, it seems like it's this one.

I think it was great while I wouldn't consider it the best Marvel movie ever its definitely in the top 10.

Still for me personally it doesn't hold a candle to The Dark Knight.

Yes, obviously I haven't seen it yet so can't make a judgement but the hype seems about as big as I can remember for a movie in a long time, nevermind a superhero movie.

Yeah the hype around the movie is something else.

One thing I will say is while I really loved this movie I could see number two being even better. Black Panther has a hell of a lot of world building to do with introducing Wakanda and all of the tech that is common place there. They won't have to worry about that as much in BP2 so they will have a lot more movie time to play around with.

Although this isn't a guarantee, Thor 1 & 2 springs to mind lol.

Same here.
Guessing the general public that wanted to see BP, should have seen it within the next 2-3 weeks.
I guess the best way is to start off where we had our top 10 best superhero movies ever and just reserve one of those spots for ..Black Panther ?

I feel like Ragnaron, and EVERY MCU movie gets this kind of hype

For me, The Dark Knight will always be the best.

But if BP can give it a run for its money, then it deserves LEGEND status.

According to Stuckmann and Jeremy Jahns who I trust as movie reviewers said its just pretty good. Its not a terrible movie or anything, but just a good movie. Not the best and it has flaws. I doubt it will be better than Civil War or Doctor Strange. Def better than Iron Man 3 or Thor Dark World.

To each their own but to trust those guys over the likes of Richard Roeper or David Ehrlich...lol.

I notice you snuck Dr Strange in there.

Other then the occasional impressive/original visuals there was nothing special about that movie.

Haven't seen it yet, but best ever seems unrealistic.

Top 2 or 3 in the MCU though, more than likely.

It's really good but not the best. Not even the best film from the MCU. It's got a lot of good qualities going for it. Great music and production design.

It's not the best superhero movie ever.

Unrealistic to who? I can guarantee there will be plenty of people who think it is after seeing the film, and they'll have a legitimate consensus of data to back their opinion. All you can do is debate and/or disagree. I haven't seen it and may not think it is myself, but again, that won't make the claim less relevant.

To me the top 4 MCU movies are.

1. Cap Civil war
2. Cap winter solider
3. Spider-Man HC
4. Doctor strange.

After those top 4 there is a big gap but I am also one of the few people that find the MCU to be overrated has I find a lot of the MCU movies to be ok/bad.

Are those your favorites or are they your highest rated films?

Mine is probably more like this:

1. The Winter Soldier
2. The Avengers
3. Civil War
4. Guardians of the Galaxy

Hey, opinions are fine. If some people like it better than The Dark Knight or X2 or Superman 1978, great, more power to 'em.

It's probably not in a more objective sense of the term. Like, hell, I like Begins more than TDK. It's probably not a "better movie". I love The Rocketeer more than just about anything comic-related out there. That's hardly high cinema.

Panther can be really, really good, spectacular even, and not be "the best superhero movie ever, ever-ever, also ever". And that's not a knock on the movie at all. It sure as hell looks a cut above all of the recent MCU efforts, even the really good ones.

What did you see in Dr Strange that makes you rank it above the rest?

The way I saw it...

The plot was predictable, boring and disjointed. It promised alot of things that never came to be (i.e. Dr Strange having to sacrifice to gain the knowlegde of the mistic arts).

The villain was one dimensional and made no sense whatsoever. He wants the world to be frozen still by Dormammu for what??? Probably the weakest of all MCU villains.

Dialogue was nothing special.

The humor and the visuals were very well executed. The acting was there too, Cumberpatch did his thing.

Overall not a "bad" movie but far from the best.

Come on... TDK isn't even a top ten film any more.

If Black Panther beats TDK it's actually not saying much.

Beat the Cap films or Avengers THEN we'll talk.

Captain America First Avenger is the most underrated comic book film.

I will soon see where the Black Panther eventually fits into my top 10 list:

1) Captain America: Winter Soldier
2) Dark Knight
3) Xmen United
4) Spider-Man
5) Captain America Civil War
6) Xmen
7) Avengers
8) Iron Man 3
9) Logan

10) Wonder Woman

Disagree with you there....I LOVED Doctor Strange. Maybe my story is different from everyone else, but I had didnt have knowledge of the character - so I went into the movie blind. So to see his origin story was awesome to me. And also, the time stone was worked in the story awesome. I loved the relationship of The Ancient One & Strange. The humor was perfectly placed for me. After the movie, I'm not a huge Doctor Strange fan and I can't wait to see him in Infinity War. Also, I'm a huge fan of Benedict Cumberbatch - I prolly wouldnt liked it if it was indeed Johnny Depp or Joachim Phoenix like the rumors suggested.

It was one of my fav MCU films along with Avengers, IM 1, GotG, CA CW.
