I am going to pretend you never said that.
Anyway, I forgot Chinatown's.
Don't pretend...com'on, there is no such thing as a split personality. Then he blows his own head off to kill his "other half" and comes back to life. stupidest...movie...ever.
okay, I don't mean to just sound like a dick or something, but can somebody please explain to me why Usual Suspects is considered a good/great twist? I know many people on these boards love the twist, but I absolutely hated it and think it really brought down the movie. Why does everyone like it so much, is it just that I am missing something?Usual Suspects![]()

Yeah, I guess I just didn't like it. It just didn't make sense to me. The whole plan was to kill the one guy that can ID him, so in order to do that, he allows himslef to be photgraphed, fingerprinted, and generally IDed to the cops. And while you can just assume that he would get surgery again and disappear, he could have done that in the first place. To me it just seemed completely unrealistic and a complete waste of time on Keyser's part. I will definately admit though that Singer pulled the twist out perfectly. It's not a matter of his direction or anything, just the general idea behind it.The fact that the cops and everyone who was looking for Keyser Soze(spelling?) didn't know that he was among them the entire time. The fact that he created a story in front of the cop and made it sound so convincing, so realistic, and the cop didn't catch on to the facts until it was too late.
I think it's considered a great twist because it was cleverly hidden and once it happened it shocked the hell out of you.
For me it didn't bring down the movie at all, in fact, that's what makes it even greater.

I guess this is just one of those pesky personal preference things.

The Illusionist.
I loved the ending. Didn't see it coming. Maybe I'm just gullible, but I began to see it as Edward Norton's character (Eisenheim) having a unique magical and mystical ability.... they "showed" Jessica Biel's character (Sophie) being 'killed' and later found by Eisenheim and others. Twist- this was just a plan to get Sophie away from her husband to be Prince Leopold.
We saw that Eisenheim was seriously mourning the loss of Sophie, but turns out in the end- Sophie is and actually always was alive.
This twist caught me off guard and is the best twist of the two magic films released this year- in my opinion.

i concur.Jacob's Ladder
Exept for part one, I saw those twist coming.Saw Trilogy
Se7en
Psycho
Vertigo
Unbreakable
The Usual Suspects
Jabob's Ladder
The Empire Strikes Back
I know people say that the twist endings in Saw were predictable and lame. I truly disagree with them, as all three endings managed to stay original and shock you.
Whoever says they saw the first twist in Saw coming is lying through their teeth. No one saw that coming.
The second twist in Saw? Okay,Amanda being John's apprentice was pretty obvious. But the entire "game" being pre-recorded and Matthew's son being in the safe the entire time? No one saw that coming either.
The twist in the third film shocked the hell out of me.Jigsaw testing Amanda the entire time? Amanda killing Adam? Matthew's surviving his test and almost killing Amanda, and Jigsaw kidnapping Jeff's daughter?
Every single twist in the Saw trilogy has left me blown away.
I thought it was a pretty good movie and that was a very good twist, but the Prestige was a much better movie and its twist was better because itThe Illusionist.
