Your top 5 most anticipated films of 2013

Man of Steel and Iron Man 3...don't have more than that...where's my Girl/Dragon Tattoo sequel?

need to see a few more trailers before deciding

waiting on Wolverine and that Bloomkamp footage

Man this thread became a downer. I still believe in superhero movies! Then again I love movies more than I love comics.
I'm with you.:woot: Our best days could still be before us.What with Avengers sequels and Justice League (plus a whole stable of DC characters who have yet to see the big screen),there is still a lot to be excited about.

Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
Star Trek Into Darkness
Kick-Ass 2
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Honorable Mentions: Man of Steel, Pacific Rim, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hangover Part 3

1. Man of Steel - Supes is my absolute favorite superhero, yet I've never liked a Superman movie, so now that we're finally getting one that wants to depart from the previous cinematic incarnation of the character completely? Yeah, that's just too exciting for me.

2. Gravity - Cuaron. Sci-Fi. That's all I need.

3. Star Trek Into Darkness - Just to find out who the Big Bad really is, lol.

4. Elysium - Loved District 9, and love the premise of this.

5. Iron Man 3 - honestly, if Shane Black wasn't involved, I probably wouldn't be hyped for either of the Marvel movies this year (the TV show's another story). My favorite Avenger is Cap, so I would say bring on 2014. BUT I truly can't wait to see Shane Black finally taking on a modern blockbuster. Love that guy.

Honorable Mentions: Only God Forgives, Kick-Ass 2, Blood Ties, 12 Years a Slave, Much Ado About Nothing, Jack Ryan

- The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
- Man of Steel
- Star Trek: Into Darkness
- Iron Man 3
- Thor 2

In that order. Not even remotely excited for anything else on that list.

you know why I think we all stop reading comics?

the concept of death.

we are going to die, the characters aren't.

My concern is there will be comic movie over load and people will get tired of comic movies. With Wolverine, Kick Ass 2 and the Sin City sequel along with Man Of Steel Iron Man 3 and Thor. I wonder if people will not care.

Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 should be safe. They are still riding a big wave of success. The other comic films might under-perform. I think Man of Steel will be a huge hit though.

I totally forgot about Only God Forgives, on the topic of Gosling, The Place Beyond the Pines.

The characters die m but they don't stay dead. That cheapens the storytelling.

Another film I'm really looking forward to is Maniac starring Elijah Wood.

Got a *lot* more than 5 on my to-do list for next year. So, in the order I'm currently anticipating 'em:

Man of Steel
Pacific Rim
Iron Man 3
Star Trek: Into Darkness
Thor: The Dark World
Rush
World War Z
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
Ender's Game
Monuments Men
Gangster Squad
The Great Gatsby
The Wolverine
Jack Ryan
The World's End
Oblivion
After Earth

  1. Man of Steel
  2. The Hobbit pt. 2
  3. Pacific Rim
  4. After Earth
  5. World War Z
  6. Oblivion
  7. Thor 2
  8. Star Trek Into The Darkness
  9. Iron Man 3
  10. Kick Ass 2
  11. The Wolverine
  12. 300 Rise of An Empire
  13. Fast and Furious 6
  14. A Good Day to Die Hard
  15. THG Catching Fire
  16. RIPD
  17. Elysium

2013 is going to be a fantastic year for Sci-Fi. I can't wait for Blomkamp's Elysium and Cuaron's Gravity. Del Toro's Pacific Rim remains highly anticipated by me despite the underwhelming trailer. Star Trek, of course, is a given after the successes of the first installment.

Man of Steel though has impressed me beyond belief. It has the makings to not only be the best CBM of 2013, but a great overall film. Snyder, The Nolans and Goyer have likely made Superman 'relevant' on the big screen again.

I think people in general are still pretty receptive to Superman but just needed a better film than Superman Returns to latch onto.

1. Iron Man 3
2. The Wolverine
3. Oblivion
4. The Tomb
5. White House Down

Thor 2 could be a nice holiday season movie to look foward too. But its interesting because wont that be marvels first non summer movie?

I don't think people will get tired of comic book movies. Its a bit of a trend, and at some point it will probably slow down. But they are some of the highest grossing films of all time, and I think they are here to stay.

The next big trend is probably video game films. Although up until this point, they all have been terrible, I think that could change. I think it depends on how the new Mortal Kombat reboot does, as well as the planned Metal Gear Solid film. Looking forward to both.

The comic book movies I'm really looking forward to are coming out in 2014-2015.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2
X-Men: Days of Future Past
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Avengers 2

2013 has Wolverine, which I'm still unsure about, but I love the character so much, so I'm excited. Kick-Ass 2 I'm also unsure, since the graphic of the sequel wasn't the greatest either. I'm not a big fan of Superman, so not too excited for Man of Steel. Same goes for Thor: The Dark World.

Returns set the franchise back. It was Superman's first film in decades and it fell flat. So I agree with the notion that Superman still possesses his fandom and iconic image with the casuals but needs a modern interpretation.
