Your top 5 most anticipated films of 2013

Returns set the franchise back. It was Superman's first film in decades and it fell flat. So I agree with the notion that Superman still possesses his fandom and iconic image with the casuals but needs a modern interpretation.

Superman is the archetype for all superheroes, so I think no matter what he will still be very iconic.

Green Lantern's film debut was terrible, but he is still a very loved character. In fact, after the movie came out, it seems like more Green Lantern fans emerged from nowhere (at least that's how it is on my college campus).

Agreed.

It is strange. The film was utter **** (all except for the Oa and Sinestro scenes) but it somewhat got the title/character going. I've noticed it too. I believe the concept is what is drawing people in.

1. The Last Stand

Arnold's first solo movie, combined with Kim Ji Woon's english language debut.

2. Bullet to the Head

Another Director/Star combination that intrigues me. A combination, I've actively wished for, for years now. The only reason it's sitting at 2, is because The Last Stand has a fresh concept for an 80's style action movie.

3. Pacific Rim

Del Toro Unchained.

4. Iron Man 3

The MCU is such an original, precious thing. Allowing Shane Black, who is personal hero of mine, to exercise his vision and unique writing ability with in is awesome. The trailer has more dramatic tension and Ben Kinsgley seemingly playing an awesome villain.

5. Oblivion

The trailer simply blew me away. Feels like the 70's sci-fi novels, I always love to read.

6. Man of Steel

I still don't think another origin film was necessary, but the character based approach of the marketing gives me the same awe and (Love? Pride? Joy? Happiness? Inspiration? I'm not sure what the word is I need for it) that I got out of Donner's and Singer's films during their high points.

7. The Hangover 3

Didn't know this was coming out! Count me in. I even loved the second.

8. Olympus Has Fallen

Antoine Fuqua is one of my favourite action directors. Not to mention it's the first "Die Hard on a ______" film in forever. I'll bet it'll be a better Die Hard movie than the fifth one.

9. Parker

Normally a typical Jason Statham movie would be instant top 5. But it doesn't look too hot as an adaptation of the Parker novels. It still makes the top 10 for the fact that Jason Statham will fight Daniel Bernhardt (One of the original DTV martial artists).

10. G.I. Joe: Retaliation

The Rock and Bruce Willis as G.I. Joes. Done.

11. Broken City

This looks more like Parker than Parker does. Hard boiled film noir.

12. The Wolverine

The character deserves an awesome solo film. If Mangold can bring his Cop Land/3:10 to Yuma boots, we're in for a badass movie.

13. Fast 6

I'm sure it'll be fun. But I want to know how much more Luke Hobbs we're getting before I can get excited.

14. Star Trek Into Darkness

I'm positive it'll be awesome. But the lack of Bones in the trailer has me worried they'll pull some kind of Alien 3 move.

15. Elysium
16. 2 Guns
17. Small Apartments
18. Malavita

None of those have trailers, or too many details, so I can't comment. But they look interesting.

Also, The Tomb doesn't have a release date in Australia yet. Otherwise, it's an easy Number 1 for me. Obviously.

2. Evil Dead
