No one has even suggested "The Dead Hate the Living"? Or "Cries of the Living Dead"?

Not sure if serious...

On a serious note: Let Sleeping Corpses Lie is a great one which one has mentioned yet.

No, I'll have to check it out.. I've barely heard of it :(

Not serious on the first, Dead serious on the second. Cries of the living dead is an amazing low low low budget Zombie flick that rivals some of the biggest High budget Hollywood films.

Got any urls? Google gives me nothing.

Cemetary Man is something I've been meaning to watch for years... Still haven't managed to do so...

I'll try to scrape one up. I stumbled upon it by chance in a torrent years ago,

It stars Rupert Everett (don't let that keep you from watching)....he stars as the cemetery grounds keeper who also has to keep the recently deceased in their graves....lifes a ***** when you fall in love with one......crazy movie.

28 Days Later. It pretended like it was something that could actually happen, which frightened me, and it looked amazing. Not only is it my favorite zombie film, but maybe my overall favorite horror film.

Are they zombies in 28 days?

Not really....a genetically mutated virus turns living people into brainless psychotic killing machines....you can say they are dead or zombies...but not in the classic sense.

No, the first scene is when the "rage" virus outbreaks and then the movie takes place 28 days after the outbreak.

And how good is 28 Weeks Later? I have a feeling it would be too generic and dumb and wouldn't live up to the original.

I didn't think they were ever outright ousted as zombies.

Weeks is OK, but it seriously lacks after the first 20 minutes.

I'm one of those people who prefer Weeks over Days.

Dawn Of The Dead (Original).

Man, I love that movie.

Shaun of the Dead gets an honorable mention.

I'm going with Zach Snyders "Dawn of the Dead." Followed by "28 Weeks Later."

I also love Night of the Living Dead. Maybe it's just the mood black and white creates. Great ending too.

Edit: I thought by sheer ignorance that you said '28 Days Later', just because it's impossible to like the sh** you actually wrote :o

:D

rationally, i'd say the original night of the living dead. but seriously, more people need to pay attention to lucio fulci's 'Zombie' (aka Zombi 2). that is such an awesome hidden gem of a zombie movie.

I recently watched Fulci's Zombi, very nice, though it cost me to pass by the first half of the movie, the trip to the island...

My favorite zombie movie is Shaun of the Dead. It has it all :D

But I love zombie movies, so I will hardly speak against other choices :hehe:

Anyone seen Automaton Transfusion? It's terrible, but I bought the DVD 'cause I was feeling like watching some under the radar movie, and it had a quote from Bloody Disgusting, Shock Till You Drop or some site like that saying it was awesome on the cover... It was not :(

That one is in my top 3 list. It's a great zombie film with some classic scenes.

I love the scene with the eye and the splinter. :cwink:

That one is truly great. My gf loves horror films as well but can't stand anything involving the eyes. It really gives her the willies and makes her close her own eyes at times. I know that scene was probably the worst for her, I love how close up and graphic Fulci would get in a lot of his films.

1. Dawn of the Dead ( 1978)

2. Dawn of the Dead ( 2004)

3. Shaun of the Dead

4. Night of the Living Dead ( 1968)

5. Night of the Living Dead ( 1990)

6. Land of the Dead

7. Return of the Living Dead.

" 28 Days Later " is NOT A ZOMBIE FILM people !!!

Zombie = a corpse re-animated by chemicals, virus, radiation, or supernatural means that feeds on the flesh of the living.

Calling " 28 Days " a zombie film, would be like calling " Godzilla " a dragon film.
