And also, Bale is just straight up a much better actor than Affleck.

I recently watche Hostiles. It’s an incredible performance from Bale. I struggle to think of another actor who embodies the character he plays as convincing as a Christian.

I feel like Chadwick Boseman is the only other guy I've seen, in recent memory, who can be convincing in the same way Bale often is.

what do you guys think of ben Affleck is old bruce wayne for live aciton batman beyond movie? if we ever get one!!

Ben Affleck by far he really seemed like Batman, I hated Christian Bale as Batman and to top it off Christopher Nolan was terrible at displaying Batman's fighting skills an detective mind.

I don't se why Batman fans like Nolan's series so much, from a Batman standpoint (except Batman Begins)

What do you hate about Bale’s Batman?

Bale's Batman was very bland and rigid, he just didn't have the Batman or even Bruce screen presense.

He never felt like Batman to me and he was connstantly being upstaged by his villains.

I'm not a fan of C.Nolan's Trilogy but one thing that shines anyway is C.Bale as Bruce Wayne.

That being said, I think B.Affleck did a very good job, especially in BvS, acting like this bulky old man, tired and passively angry.Very good.

Bale. No contest.

Affleck suffered from much of the same problem that Kilmer suffered from in that, he didn't have the material or direction to really do anything that great .

Affleck never became Bruce Wayne or Batman for me.

It was always Ben Affleck in a Batman suit. He had good fight scenes , but at the end of the day , there has to be more to the performance and material to really bring the character to life.

A comic accurate suit and good fight scenes aren't enough for me to believe someone is Bruce Wayne.

Because it had great characters, compelling storylines, strong themes, great cinematography, great acting, and explores the core issues around Batman’s psyche, identity and motivation better than any other movie?

But yeah... “punchy punchy, look at my muscle suit and big chin” is far more important, right?

:whatever:

Practically everything you said about Bale applies to Affleck.

Except the villains thing. Instead of being upstaged by the villains, Affleck was being constantly upstaged by his fellow heroes.

And Batfleck wasn't upstaged by villains only because villains in BvS and JL sucked harder than a vacuum cleaner.

WTF really, I always thought Chadwick is kind of mediocre. Have only seen him in Black Panther and CW, gotta say his over-the-top facial expressions and accent annoys me as hell.

He will be a strong, probably the strongest contender at 2019 Oscar for his lead-performance in Backseat. He's indeed one of the best actor of this generation.

Batman Begins is the perfect depiction of Batman on screen for me. Even his Bat-voice is perfect there. And Batman fans like TDK Trilogy so much because the story, character development and execution is so so good that they don't care how inaccurate Batman is.

Batman in Batman Begins >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Any Batman performance by Ben.

When it comes to Bruce, Bale just comfortably **** on Ben.

And again, while I agree Nolan's fight choreography is terrible, I think it's overrated and not a big problem at all.

Yup.

EisenLex and Steppenwolf are two of the absolute worst villains in recent memory.

Bale by a mile. Christian Bale brought an internal conflict to the Batman that Ben did not. Ben comes across as a guy trying really hard to brood, and then he wears a mask at night.
Christian comes across as a very serious guy who's willing to sacrifice himself at any minute to complete his mission.

One of those is Batman, the other isn't. Ben doesn't have the seriousness to play a good Batman in my opinion.

Seriously. Eisenlex was like watching the worst actor in your improv class attempt a Heath Ledger Joker impression and Steppenwolf was like a claymation action figure with an Oedipus complex.

I honestly don't think any actor has been able to capture every single aspect of Batman's character. Dude's complex.

It's impossible to do, because there are multiple versions of Batman.

We need to stop thinking of the film versions as 'which was most like the comic?' and start thinking of them as new versions of the character, just like Denny O'Neil and Frank Miller and Adam West gave us new versions of the character. Ben Affleck is Zac Snyder's Batman. Bale is Nolan's version of Batman. And so on.

:

Bale and Affleck may have provided the comicbook physique, but Keaton has the look even now of someone who could just suddenly snap and beat up everyone in the room. I think Bale, Affleck, Kilmer, West, all are good in the role, but Keaton is Batman for me.
