Beware the Batman

There will be more villains. Specifically Anarky who will be the agent of chaos in lieu of Joker.

Here's a rundown of announced villains:
http://m.ign.com/articles/2013/07/10/who-are-the-villains-of-beware-the-batman

That list is inaccurate. The writer was too lazy to do proper research and copied it off wrong info on Wikipedia.

The villains coming on soon are Magpie, Anarky, Lunkhead, Cypher, Humpty Dumpty, Ra's al Ghul, Silver Monkey, the Key, and Lady Shiva. Tobias might show up since he was in a short tie-in comic story.

Does anybody think that the animation is similar to Green Lantern? Does anyone else think they'll expand the Batman universe to include other DC characters?

Green Lantern was more-or-less a 3D version of Timm's art style.

This show seems more stylized and less like his art

Does anyone else think they'll expand the Batman universe to include other DC characters?

Well, it's expanding on the Outsiders, which is part of the Batman Universe, while not so familiar for the mainstream Batman fans.

Saw the first episode. Not bad.Wasn't really excited for this series to begin with.

Not sure I can get behind this version of Alfred.I mean,if the gimmick is he wants bruce to have a bodyguard, why couldn't they have just had him old as usual, instead of getting a broken ankle?

The animation was pretty good.Something about Batman's head was off, though.Like it was too flat on top or something.

Yes but I clearly saw Keystone City and the surname "Allen" come up.

Well, that was pretty good.

Professor Pyg and Mr. Toad intrigue me. They're animal rights activists, fitting with the animal themes. But Pyg is a guy in a mask, while Toad seems to be a literal mutant toad. I hope they delve into some background, like what was Professor Pyg's day job (an actual professor?) and what caused Mr. Toad to mutate and, by extension, give him that sonic croak.

It's small, but I liked the contrast between Simon Stagg and Michael Holt, Holt being the nice one and Stagg being the rude and ungrateful one. I hope they return.

And not to be "that guy", but Anthony Ruivivar's Batman didn't really do much for me, though I can see him improving in the future. At least he's listenable, unlike certain other voices for characters. I wasn't picturing Professor Pyg to sound like he did, but Brian George was good as him. JB Blanc and Udo Kier sounded pretty good as Alfred and Mr. Toad, as did, from what little I heard, Kurtwood Smith and Sumalee Montano as Gordon and soon-to-be Katana.

I give it a 4/5. Compared to other Batman premieres, I'd say it's on par with "On Leather Wings", better than "Holiday Knights", though not as enjoyable as "Rise of the Blue Beetle!".

In this back-issue we can see some very potential obscure villains for this series. Here's hoping!

Like with the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, the start didn't seem impressive, but seeing how fun Nick's Turtles show is, I'll keep up with this one

Alfred looks a bit like Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond

'

Stagg is more or less the antagonist of Metamorpho.

Wonder if Holt [blackout]will adopt the name (It'll probably be a spoiler to non comic readers) Mr. Terrific[/blackout] in this show

Tim Curry was initially cast as the voice of the Joker. After he recorded four episodes, his take on the role was deemed to be too scary, so the decision was made to recast and eventually the role went to Mark Hamill.
I say since Mark Hamill wants out of voicing the Joker lets see if Curry will take over.

Voice work
Curry has also appeared in a large number of animated TV shows and films, starting with the performance of the Serpent in The Greatest Adventure: Stories from the Bible. Curry also portrayed Captain Hook in the show based around the Fox animated series based on the Peter Pan novel Peter Pan and the Pirates which Curry won a Daytime Emmy for his performance. Curry took over for the character of MAL in Captain Planet and the Planeteers after the death of David Rappaport. Arguably Curry's most famous animated TV role was in The Wild Thornberrys where he played Nigel Thornberry, the father of the main protagonist. Curry was mainly known for antagonist roles in animated shows such as Taurus Bulba in the Disney series Darkwing Duck, Evil Manta in the animated prequel series to The Little Mermaid, Skullmaster in Mighty Max, George Herbert Walker 'King' Chicken in Duckman, Lord Dragaunus in The Mighty Ducks, Professor Finbar Calamitous in Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius, G. Gordon Godfrey in Young Justice. He also became the voice of Palpatine for the last episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars upon the death of Ian Abercrombie.
Curry was originally cast to portray the Joker in Batman: the Animated Series. But before any episodes were produced, he was replaced by Mark Hamill because the series' producer Bruce Timm and casting director Andrea Romano deemed Curry's voice too scary and not clown-like.[13]
Curry also appeared in a number of animated films such as Ferngully: The Last Rainforest, Pebble and the Penguin, all three Rugrats films as side characters (sans Rugrats go Wild where he reprises his role as Nigel), Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas, The Wild Thornberrys Movie, Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost, the Cat Returns, Valiant, Fly Me to the Moon, Garfield: Tail of Two Kitties and many more.
Curry has also lent his voice to numerous video games, such as Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers and Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned, where he voiced the titular character, Gabriel Knight. Some of his other video game credits include Toonstruck, Sacrifice, Brütal Legend and Dragon Age: Origins.
His audiobook work includes both Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events and the Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix.[14]

I thought the official story was Curry's Joker sounded too much like his Captain Hook? This is the first time I heard it was considered "scary".

I quite enjoyed the first episode. I skipped the 2 batman series before this one (The Batman and Brave and the Bold) but I think I'll stick with this.

Found Alfred a bit weird at first but it's not a deal breaker. I watched Green Lantern and I watch TF: Prime so the CGI isn't an issue for me.

Not a huge fan of the cowl, well the nose part really, he might want to consider changing his name to Birdman.

It doesn't seem like it's aimed squarely at children though, there were quite a few references to killing.

So... I wasn't really impressed by it. I thought it looked kinda flat and lifeless, the villains were boring and not really fleshed out, and Alfred is going to take a lot of getting used to. The best part was the voice-acting, which was great, but I found the rest to just be blah.

It has potential, don't get me wrong.

Batman sounds sort of like a young Peter Weller imitating Conroy

I would rank McKenzie over both Bale and Baldwin.

Well probably, yeah. But even Bale was fine in context. Baldwin was the only one I can think of that I dislike profusely. Conroy and Keaton topping the charts.

Of course I'm purely referring to voices. :)

Not exactly Beware related, but i could bet my left hand we'll definitely will get a Beware the Batman blu-ray. :)

Outrageous!
