Beware the Batman

I just watched the 2nd episode I love when Bruce hit the button on his watch to signal Alfred back at the Batcave the sound when that red light flashed was the sound of the Batphone from the 60s tv show :awesome:.

I find it interesting that the series who use this 3D animation(Transformers Prime, Ninja Turtles 2012 and Beware the Batman) all pay homages to classic stuff

Transformers Prime- Original Soundwave voice

Ninja Turtles- Many homages to the 87 cartoon

Now Beware the Batman and Red light sound effect

Some info from Comic-Con:

*The episode screened at the panel has Humpty Dumpty. He's supposed to be creepy in it. Tobias Whale and Barbara Gordon also show up.

*Adam Baldwin will voice Metamorpho.

*There's a League of Assassins subplot running throughout the first season.

*Something near the end of the first season will push the boundaries of the censors.

*No plans for Joker, Robin, or Catman.

*A second season has been approved and in production. A "Top Five" Batman villain will appear, who has the letter "D" in his name. Also expect some special voice guest stars.

Definitely Riddler after seeing the episode list

I'm really interested as to what this is going to be.

another solid episode

this show is definitely a pleasant surprise so far

Any Mystery Incorporated staff on this besides Mitch Watson? I really liked MI.

I liked the 2nd ep more than the first. I am no prude, but I felt the Magpie design to be way over the top and sexualized for a CN show. Maybe it's also because one of my biggest pet peeves with villains and heroes is when females of either type are dressed like strippers yet we are supposed to believe they can get through some big fight unscathed and safe.

I enjoyed the tension between Batman and Gordon in the second episode. Their debate about whether or not the villain belonged in jail was very interesting for a children's show.

Yeah, it was. But it's kinda undermined by them not having Gordon us an actual gun. What's up with that? Why could BTAS have cops with bullet firing guns but over 2 decades later we get Gordon with like a disc shooter or something?

She made me think of Lady Gaga. So, maybe that's what they were going for.

There's a pic floating around of your standard female fantasy warrior with arrows going through her uncovered body with her saying maybe she should've picked better armor. At least Katana will be covered up.

The difference between now and the time period of the TAS is that we have a major shooting every other month. The network perceives the program to be operating in a sensitive environment and acted accordingly. I have no thoughts on the merits of the decision, but that I have no problem with laser weapons for the program. They had the same hardware in the X-Men:TAS, but that did not prevent the show from rising up to become a marker for success in the medium.

OK, I should clarify. The "second season" ended up being someone misunderstanding it for the second half of the season. One of the leaked episode titles is "Enigma". So, no second season, but the mystery villain should be obvious now.:cwink:

Also, Emmanuelle Chriqui will voice Sapphire Stagg.

Great episode. This Batman is quickly rising to my favorite animated Batman.

This show is actually pretty good. Am I too nitpicky though, when I think the last villain made no sense whatsoever? So she was a former kleptomaniac, got her memories removed and somehow she can now grow deadly fingernails and apparently has a healing factor, because falling off a building didn't faze her.

The process affected her brain and, specifically, her ability to feel pain. Unfortunately, that often gets mistaken for superstrength. The fall from the building or being hit by a metal canister should have killed her.

No idea on the nails. I don't think she can regrow them, though, since she was picking them up when her nails on one hand were broken.

Maybe she was more experimented on then they said. Perhaps she is not the first of these experiments we will see

I am loving this series. I was even thrilled to see Barbara Gordon getting all giddy with questions to her father concerning the Batman. I also like the fact that in a way the show allowed me to become a detective and try to figure out Magpie's identity despite the red herring in the show. And Batman's voice is not Kevin Convoy but he's almost Convoy-esqe. Now if DC Nation can give me good companion series to follow Beware or give me an Adult Swim version DC Nation I would be good. I even enjoyed the 'Starsky & Hutch' version of Wonder Woman.

Barbara is the Batman fangirl while Tatsu thinks Batman (at this point) is a nut.

Batman's new voice actor did seem very Conroy-esque in episode 2.

Surprisingly,I'm digging this show.I still have reservations about Katana being an official "side-kick".Right now,it's still in the early Ollie/Diggle stages, though.

I quite dig this so far. I especially enjoyed the Magpie episode.

Badass twist on Alfred is, well, badass.

The producers have said this is Batman very early in his career. Gordon is just a lieutenant. Which serves as a good excuse for why Batman isn't the "Mary Sue/Gary Stu" perfect Batgod figure that some fanboys wish he was (I've seen this reaction on twitter and other boards). Yes, Batman should certainly be way smarter and more capable than a typical person but you can't have much drama and tension with an infallible godlike portrayal.

Not a big fan of the show. I don't care for the character designs or all the static shots and art style. Sort of looks off-putting in CG a lot like Green Lantern.

The voice acting is also pretty stiff.

Humpty Dumpty episode was shown at Comic-Con. It was alright. The fight and action scenes look good at least.
