Beware the Batman

It's going to take a while to build up steam especially with them a lot of villains no one has heard of before.

That being said it's shown it has great potential. Especially with Katana.

Humpty Dumpty was Badger!

I knew I recognized that voice. Loving Red as Gordon and Batman is phenomenal. They keep this up and he'll easily become my favorite animated Batman. Another great episode and holy ef Humpty Dumpty is creepy. Is the soul taker sword this version's Lazairus Pit

Jacobed: No the sword is based off of the comics and the Katana character. The Lazerous pit is something totally different.

Still not feeling the empty locations but I think the show is creating a good atmosphere with it's mystery aspect. Humpty Dumpty is a goofy concept on paper but they executed him well and he came off eccentric, creepy and a bit tragic.

Humpty Dumpty reminded me of STAS's Toyman. They both were more creepy than their looks let on. But, Toyman was more creepy. Anyway, I liked the episode.

Interestingly enough, I read the Free Comic Book day comic and Whale made an appearance. He was trying to bring in some weapons to Gotham for Anarky. Anarky didn't have a problem with his failure and still payed him because he was excited to have an adversary like Batman. Also, they destroyed his Batmobile, but Batman said he had more than one and when they tried to remove his mask, it activated some loud shriek. The artist made Batman's suit look grey instead of all black like the show.

Today's episode was so freaking creepy. Honestly, I need to give the show's creative team a round of applause: it's very difficult to create a twisted, weird, yet genuinely sad character villain that you really feel for, which I think they did with Humpty Dumpty. This may have been my favorite episode so far.

I think this show has got me hooked... this was another thoroughly enjoyable episode.

Humpty Dumpty was suitably creepy and Matt Jones did an excellent job with his voice. He of course reminded me of Toyman from S:TAS. The one thing that made me scratch my head was how he went so insane after the explosion, as it seemed liked he honestly missed most of the blast. Did it provide him with a serious head injury, affecting his ability to play with ''numbers and toys''?

It was great to see Gordon again in this episode and while I'm still hearing Agent Bennett from The Zeta Project, the interactions between him and Batman are wonderfully snippy. It'll be very interesting to see what they do with Barbara.

As for the animation, it's the same story. I love the character designs and they are animated beautifully. They just need to fill up that darn city, but for the most part I'm now getting used to it. The music in this episode was also amazing.

Anyone else think that Rick Morales is the best director on this show... His fight scenes (or supervision of) are always stunning and he's the only one that seems to wrap Batman in his cape.

A definite 4/5 for me.

The new episode was good...that's it. Just good. Liked seeing Batman interact with Gordon and Barbara now as well. Humpty was more than adequately weird. Seeing Tatsu freak out over the missing sword was amusing.

I'll just leave my ep ratings so far here out of a possible 10.
Ep1 6.5 / Ep2 8.5 / Ep3 4.5 / Ep4 8.5 / Ep5 7.0

^^^ What are all those links in your post?

Oh sorry... I posted my review on two different message boards. I just copy and pasted it here.

I have no idea why the first board does the links thing. But I've edited them out.

Must remember to do that in future.

I really enjoyed this episode...Badger as Humpty Dumpty was awesome but I really REALLY hate the laser guns. The early Batman/Gordon dynamic was really well done.

The one complaint I have with the show is every ending is nearly the same, the bad guy gets away. On that note however, it appears that it is all building up to something big.

I missed the latest episode but which catch it later tonite with On Demand. I must say this is the best animated show out there. I look forward to this one every week.

"Broken" was the series' first really good episode, IMO. The previous ones have been pretty mediocre. This one stands above the pack by having an interesting, creepy, and somewhat more developed villain (Humpty Dumpty of all things!), and some great Batman moments. It was dragged down a wee bit by the tedium of Tatsu's side-arc (I know its building somewhere, but seriously it was dull this ep). But overall this is the first episode I felt really really satisfied with.

Not familiar with this Humpty villain but I liked the episode. I thought it would be Toyman. That castle must be out of the city's limit or out in the desert for folks to not notice the construction of a huge ass castle going on! lol Alfred didn't seem familiar with Ra's name when Katana mentioned it. Either Bruce never mentions it to him or he never trained under him. Or he did train under him but Ra's used a different alias.

Bruce was unaware of the League of Assasins, so yeah, he hasn't trained under them.

Yeah, I didn't get the whole castle bit. Seemed random that there was just a castle near Gotham, no explanation of what it was or how it got there.

I wasn't feeling this episode as much as I was some of the others. It was better than the Anarky episode, but besides that one I felt it was the weakest.

Batman's gadgets were a little too much for me and the castle kind of came out of nowhere. The voice acting was still good, but I still just cannot get over how ****ing ugly Batman's design is. It might actually be too much for me to keep watching.

Gotham in all adaptations and in the comics has a limitless supply of abandoned warehouses and bizarre buildings, but apparently a castle is where we draw the line?

Because big metropolitan cities actually have abandoned warehouses and bizarre buildings. Castles? Not so much.

No worries, just wondering.

This last episode was actually the first one to make me yawn most of the way through. Just was not feeling it at all. I liked Tobias Whale and the furthering of the Soul Taker Sword plot. Not much else really. I did not think it was bad, just full of... MEH.

Not even one on the outskirts of town? It's not like it was in the middle of the city. That's even ignoring the fact that Arkham Asylum is usually treated as a Gothic castle re-modeled to serve as a mental institution.

I actually wonder if whenever we're introduced to Arkham in the series, will it be designed as an actual mental hospital in order to do a different take on it? Miskatonic already seemed like it was a regular hospital.
