Beyond Brainiac: A NEWER villain for Season 8

Power Girl for Season 8 as an older clone of Kara.

There's really no other DC superheroes they can use, aside from Green Arrow again.

The big 7 are off the table thanks to the Justice League film.

Maybe for Smallville's version of Power Girl, they should have Maggie Grace from Lost to play the role.

As much as I love this show, I really feel that Season 8 should be the end to this series.

I enjoy the DC cameos and I would like to see at least 2 more before the show ends. I agree that the show needs to be more Superman-centric, however, I feel that these cameos helps to shape Clark's future and destiny. Through these heroes, he realizes the impact he will have on not just the human race but also the Superhero community.

yeah, but that isnt going to happen.

if not for all the pandering DC additions and cameos for ratings, the show wouldnt have made it this long

after Perry, Lois, Impulse, Brainiac, Aquabro, Cyborg, Jimmy, Green Arrow, Supergirl, Black Canary etc... Al and Miles are bound to pimp another toy from the DC sandbox this year

I dont care for the characters that don't belong in Smallville but its inevitable

Just remembered that Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) stated that the writers/producers wants him for a 3 - 4 episode arc towards season end. Could this be a character that they introduce in the season finale that brings us into Season 8??

I guess I'm one of the few that really enjoys Smallville's re-imagination of DC characters. Many fans have accepted Brainiac as part of Clark's Smallville's universe...why not the possibility of Darkseid. It seems like a stetch but I think it can be done. Having Brainiac take Kara into the stars really makes me think there maybe a connection.

In 2005, Grant Morrison's 'Mister Miracle' mini series gave us a re-imagined 'human' guise for Darkseid. I could see Smallville using this to some degree. Also, Darkseid has many followers who can pave the way for him to show up in the final battle of Season 8 thus causing Clark to become Superman and protect the world. All this time Clark has yet to realize that his life truly has a much bigger purpose beyond the shores of Smallville. He is still very contained and isolated. There needs to be an event that will help him see the need for a Superman in the world.

You need some 7 foot tall unknown dude to pull it off.

But still, getting into Darkseid and the whole New Gods New Genesis/Apokolips thing is driving too far from the mythology of Smallville.

I want Season 8 to be on point and not drive into far off tangets.

The great thing about Brainiac is he ties into Kal's Kryptonian origins (just like TAS); hes a mix of Brainiac and Eradiactor.
