the only video game adaption that has a shot atm is Uncharted it has a good director at least
Irrational Games executive Ken Levine recently spoke to Industry Gamers and had this to say on the status of the project:
“We got very close to having it get made – we had a deal in place and a director. But for us there is no burning desire to have a movie made just to get it made. For us and for Take-Two, its really got to be something that will A) Give the fans something that they want and B) For those who don’t know BIOSHOCK really introduce them to something that is consistent with the game, and is going to be a good representation of the game”
“There are differences between games and movies no doubt, but the movie has to draw from the same DNA in terms of the world and the story beats. But you know we don’t have a need to get it made", effectively indicating it’s a low priority.

From three pictures, and one of them being a holding area for the bodies/suits, it's hard to tell what direction they were going for. They all look dark and kind of bland though.
I meant that with only three pictures we don't know what their concept for the rest of the scenery would've been. This is primarily about showing off the Big Daddy.
Bioshock (and Bioshock Infinite) is probably my favourite game of this generation and as such I would love to see a film based on it.. If they do adapt it though I would certainly hope that the core story (and twist) is kept in tact as well the design as that is part of it's appeal.
I could see someone like Alex Proyas or Alfonso Cuaron doing a good job.. maybe even Duncan Jones depending how Warcraft turns out. It's kinda cliché to say too but having someone like Peter Jackson or GDT involved would help ensure that some love and care goes in to the design of it all too.
A game like Bioshock should be an R-rated film.Is The "Bioshock" Movie Back On?

Issues with the previous versions related to both budget and the film's rating which would have to be a "hard R".
Infinite could squeak by with a PG-13 but it's an M-rated game and it's adaption should reflect that. I don't like the idea of watering down a source material to justify a lower rating.
