Birds of Prey Birds of Prey General Discussion and Speculation

Also this shot was in a pre and post FX site but it wasn’t in the film. I hope we get some deleted scenes on the Blu-Ray.

Doesn't throwing in the Joker kind of tip the scales though? That's like saying the first 5 MCU movies averaged $459M WW, but if you add Avengers it jumps to $635M.

It does, but it was one of the small budget slate that just happened to knock it out of the park, won’t be fair to take it off the scale because it was a phenomenal success, there were so much WTF hates and risk when it was announced.

It’s like not counting Black Panther in the solo slate performance because it made way more money than expected

Hughes has always been a DC optimist. His article essentially to me says, 33% of the time, lower budget comic movies work all of the time. :o

I'm not against lower budget movies, but I don't agree with his theory that a lower budget for movies like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman can work. Superman whom they seem to have trouble with and Batman and Wonder Woman, one that has always quite the cast and WW84 which has previous success to spend money.

Out of the other upcoming DCEU movies TSS, Black Adam, Shazam 2, Flash and Aquaman 2. I don't foresee Aquaman 2 or TSS being low budget because like WW, previous success and Gunn being involved. Flash, I don't know because his powers/storylines may require more of a budget, especially if it's the rumored Flashpoint. Which leaves Black Adam and Shazam 2, which I think is gutsy shooting simultaneously considering what happened between BvS & JL, so more modest budgets for those 2 movies may be the way to go.

The transition from before Crime scene to after crime scene was filmed in a single continuous shot. That's great.

Agreed, WB should think out of the box and make a Lois Lane movie, Only thing is, they might wait to get some big name director for a Superman franchise and let him map out the future of the Superman franchise, so they might hesitate making a Lois Lane movie.

I say just go ahead and make a LL movie, don't wait for some big name director for Superman, who wil help establish Superman (like what Matt Reeves is doing for Batman), give Cathy Yan a $40 mil budget for Lois Lane movie.

If WB can spend $38 million for R rated "The Kitchen" (which was based on Vertigo Comic), then making a PG-13 movie based on Superman comics, with Amy Adams is not that big a risk, especially if they can manage to keep the budget within $40 mil.

I was thinking more Lois teaming up with Harley and Ivy since they can’t use Cat, and she is an investigator, lady, and played by an actress at her peak who is also onto her role, so that might give the sequel a boost, also its a clash of personality and background as well, makes for good drama.

But a Lois film would be great, with cameos or support from day, Ezra the lab guy, Jena Malone, some cameo from Gal and Jas etc, even Perry White. Stuff Superman, she can have her own film first, esp with Adams in command

Well, Lois couldn't replace Selina in a "Gotham City Sirens" movie because there's nothing Gotham City about her (and personally, I think that name should stay the three of them), but it wouldn't bother me if she appeared in a movie with them. You'd have to get Amy Adams back, though.

Amy Adams is a big Lois Lane fan, and she's been associated with DC for a loong time (Amy Adams was in Smallville, she was with Christian Bale's Batman screen test as Rachel and she was Lois in 3 DCEU movies), I'm sure she will say yes if she's not busy.

Oh and get Joe back as Deathstroke, as ally or foe either way, utilize the talents DS has a fan base too, might give him a shot at a spin off

Trying to think what I clicked to get a sudden barrage of anti-Birds of Prey pieces in my youtube recomendations.

Birds of Prey is in third this weekend. Not awful but it’s a drop with an estimated $7 million dollars. I feel like it’ll make up any loss with dvd/digital download and rentals.

Can they just cast Lake Bell as Pamela Isley and make a loose adaption of Harley and Ivy episode?

I was thinking Ana since she missed out Catwoman because apparently she was too mousy, and Vikander also missed out, some serious names there

It's in favor of At&t and Warner to make good movies pg13 that cater to every crowd with good actors and directors and don't take risks, DC as whole is more bankable than any other franchise like literally every member of justice league to every batman universe character, and they have teen titans and legion of doom.
Any company with money and these roosters of characters can make sh*t ton of good movies for the next hundred years and swim in cash

That’s me btw, do not laugh

I'd love to see Adams back, but not if it was just to be Harley Quinns sidekick. Lois Lane solo please.
Personally, I'm far more interested in a sequel focusing on the Birds of Prey rather than one focusing on Harley.

Y'know, "Lois Lane and the Birds of Prey" could actually work, Lois kind of taking the place of Oracle, doing the investigative work with the Birds act as the muscle.
