i am pretty unfamiliar with the character but recently he has kinda fascinated me.

how powerful is he, really.

is he considered in the high echelon of marvel heroes? (hulk, sentry, thor, silver surfer) or maybe 2nd tier (iron man, prof. xavier, magneto)

where does he fit in the marvel hierarchy

I probably know just as much as you, but I'm guessing that he's up there, seeing as how his whisper can destroy mountains and all.

I would put Black Bolt and Magneto in the top echelon but not the Hulk. Black Bolt is very powerful and versatile. He can increase his strength to the 60 ton range, is fast and agile, has great fighting skill, and can fly. Black Bolt can also harness electrons for a variety of purposes such as electrical attack and matter manipulation. His voice can generate a destructive sonic shockwave equal to a large nuclear explosion.

^ The thing about those images is, while they show how cool BB can be, they don't really show his power at all.

He's definately had some pretty good feats including ****ing up Gladiator for a short amount of time by whispering sweet nothings into his ear, and beating Sphinx by himself.

He even managed to make the cosmic being Vortex blink when he looked like he was going to use his powers.

Also, there was a time, when Karnak, who's powers are to be able to sense the weakness of anyone/thing said that everything has a weakness but BB.

You should do yourself a favor and read Paul Jenkins Inhumans. It is one of Marvel's best, and you'll find yourself puzzled why Marvel is letting Jenkins write these reporter stories instead of putting him on Mighty Avengers or New Avengers or any of their other big name books. Jenkins is basically the man at Marvel.

Yeah his voice has staggered galactus (he had some kinda Reed Richards tech bullhorn at the time though), Ripped a whole in reality in the recent Illuminati issue, Merc'd Apocalypse (House of M: Black Panther)

Without using his voice he's gone toe to toe with the Thing, Namor etc.
He's deffinitely in the top tier.
Comparing Hulk to BB to me is like comparing Wolverine to Cyclops.

I personally think Black Bolt should be able to beat the Hulk. Whispering is enough for Black Bolt to destroy most things like buildings and planes and stuff, I can't imagine him screaming. But he can empower himself, physically to become very strong by charging up the same power that powers his voice. Black Bolt is quite strong physically though. My biggest fear with this Hulk event is that hulk will just be too strong, and it won't really be believable.

he is big green and can jump for miles. but yeah, I would really hate it if the new story went beyond the limits f the believable.

Wolverine vs Cyclops. Cyclops has proven capable of holding his own hand to hand/close up with Logan but he's at a major disadvantage. In a regular fight where they're both going all out however Cyclops would just blow Logan away and he'd stand no chance. Just flay every last ounce of flesh off his bones and launch his metal into orbit with one big optic blast.

Hulk vs Black Bolt. Black Bolt has proven capable of holding his own hand to hand/close up with Hulk but he's at a major disadvantage. In a regular fight where they're both going all out however, Black Bolt would likely blow hulk away and he'd stand no chance. Just blast him to pieces and leave his ragged meaty green chunks floating in space somewhere.

Fanboys believe Wolverine outmatches Cyke just like Fanboys believe Hulk Outmatches BB but their actual respective abilities indicate otherwise.

Yeah I see what you are saying, I mean I did admit defeat on Hulk's part to BB. But the level of anger that Hulk is hitting in the WWH series looks to make a major difference in THIS fight. It's kinda the same thing with Thor if you look at it. Thor SHOULD beat Hulk, but he doesn't. If you look at his powers and how diverse he is in his abilities. He SHOULD win everytime, but he doesn't. I'm not taking anything away from BB though, I know that he has beaten Hulk and probably can. But I do see what you are saying though.

BB is one of my favorites and also very underused and uderrated at marvel. He is no pushover by a long shot. He's up there in terms of power. BB is on the level with Hulk, Thor, and Magneto. I'm talking about just using his powers without resorting to using his vocal cords. BB killed apacalypse in the house of M storyline. Of course he used his voice to do it, but it was sweet as hell. I don't lnow why marvel doesn't use this guy more often, he should be on the avengers. BB just has never had a good writer that really flushed him out and done something interesting with him.

I'm in no way a Hulk fanboy, but I can see Hulk beating him believably in some places. Mainly because of BB's heistancy to actually use his voice. If they were fighting near a populated area, BB would defiantely hold back the power it would take to down Hulk, which could end up losing the fight for him. BB would rather die than hurt innocents with his voice. In this scenario, I would be fine with Hulk beating him.

It's possibly his biggest weakness, but also one of his best characteristics.

Angry or not one shout from BB could easilly put hulk in orbit.
Angry or not Hulk cannot fly.

Angry or not he'd thus lose.

Saying someone cant beat someone else in regards to comics is ALWAYS wrong.

You can say that they're unlikely to, or they havent but CANNOT is always wrong.

For the record I fully expect Hulk to win in the upcoming match. It's obvious that his anger is at plot device levels.
But realistically BB will pretty much always have better than 50/50 odds of beating hulk based on their respective abilities.
