Black Friday 2007

what's on everyone's shopping list?

i was planning on getting a GPS on Black Friday but i believe i found a better deal available now at Costco....

I never buy stuff on that day..I will go out to the malls just to see people get trampled, however. And play demos of games.

I barricade myself inside my home on black friday. :o No one goes in, no one goes out. It's tradition.

this again. maybe ill buy xbox 360 . so tempting but i would lose interest easily.

I always hate black Friday because it is usually the same weekend as my birthday and I usually go out birthday shopping.

This year I'm wanting an iPod Classic and just praying they don't sell out before I get a chance to grab one.

I work retail, it's easily the most ridiculous day ever. I'm just glad I don't open this year.
I opened on Black Friday once...first time ever there was a line outside of the store. It was a goddamn hardware/home store.

The day after Thanksgiving...the busiest shopping day of the entire year.

Two years ago I opened at GameStop and closed at FYE. Worst day of my life.

I haven't seen a Black Friday without a line.

Yeah...people get really rude on that day. Some dude argued with me over a price of a quart of paint vs. a gallon (a quart costs about half as much as a gallon), and while mixing paint, huge lines got formed at the paint desk. It was freaking nuts. I'm literally sweating just from mixing so much paint, and people are getting really impatient with me.

Gah. No fun.

The day after Thanksgiving when all the african americans here in the states shop. :o

Oh right that thanksgiving thing.

Thats your guys holiday in november right?

We have a holiday called bonfire night on the 5th of november where we have fire works and burn effigies of catholic terrorist Guy Fawkes. Its also celebrated in New Zealand, Australia, parts of Canada and the Caribbean.

Yeah, that's the worst part. People expect you to take all the time in the world with them, even though you have hundreds of people swarming around you at any given moment. It's like they don't even realize that they're there on Black Friday.

I think people are more pissed because they expect stores to have many more workers on tap to take care of them, but they only have a handful since so many people take that day off.

Oh, god. I've had customers tell me to walk them through the entire department and show them everything they need and explain why those items are necessary for painting the interior and/or exterior of their house.

They expect that from me no matter how many other customers there are at the counter. It's mostly from the elderly or people who don't speak English very well. :csad: Asians are especially bad. :csad: :csad:
