Black Friday 2007

I've noticed that if you hit the stores around late-afternoon/dinnertime, the stores have emptied out a little. I'm usually at my cousin's the day after Thanksgiving for lunch...but the last 2 years I've gone to Target afterwards and gotten a ton of shopping done. Better than getting stampeded at 6am.

I used to work retail that day...those still doing it, you have my sympathies. :csad:

This Black Friday kind of sucks, there's hardly any good deals.

Beg to differ, I usually get some good deals consider I live near so many stores

Well, the BF's before have been pretty good but looking over the sales for this year doesn't hold much that I need to buy. A couple of gifts and that's about it. I guess I was expecting better deals.

**** anyone that shops on Black Friday.

Seriously.
I agree.
I'm just glad I don't open this year.
You mean... there's a difference between the shifts where you work? At my job, the opening shift comes in at 4:30am, and leaves at 8:30pm. The closing shift comes in at 4:30am, and leaves at 12:00am. But it's okay. The closers get a 2-hour lunch. :whatever:
Oh right that thanksgiving thing.

Thats your guys holiday in november right?

We have a holiday called bonfire night on the 5th of november where we have fire works and burn effigies of catholic terrorist Guy Fawkes. Its also celebrated in New Zealand, Australia, parts of Canada and the Caribbean.

Oh, you wacky Commonwealth nations, and your wacky bonfire holiday...
Haha nice. Yeah, my advice is to just...go limp.
LMAO. Isn't that the advice they give for bear attacks?

Yeah, the openers come in at 4 and leave at 3, the closers come in at 1 and leave at midnight.

I have a cunning plan for getting out of work on Black Friday. It involves syrup of ipecac.

Please post details once you've executed this plan. It's sure to be a good story.

That's probably the smart thing to do, although you won't get any cool stories about seeing fights break out and all. :oldrazz:

Fun to watch the old ladies beat up some young fart over a item :woot:

So true, I was watching a few of those kind of vids on youtube...there's one at Wal-Mart where this lady gets trampled and has to go to the hospital because of a broken leg. BF can be rough...lol.

I lost a button last year. It was one of the few days I showed up for work in a blazer. I had it buttoned up before the door opened, but when the customer surge rushed in, my jacket was flying open like a wind effect in a Michael Jackson music video.

As I understand it, some of my former co-workers went in the parking lot and lit up a dro during one of their lunch breaks. Someone else brought some vicodin, and was out of his gourd half the day.

Where is that celebrated in Canada? One British family in the suburbs of Toronto?

I'm thinking about going just too see the madness. lol

I'm gonna stay home on Black Friday and eat leftovers.

I can't just sit at home when I got days off. I'm just one of those guys that needs to be out getting **** done. Hyperactive, perhaps. :o

Black Friday 2007

what's on everyone's shopping list?

i was planning on getting a GPS on Black Friday but i believe i found a better deal available now at Costco....

Stay home Pizza day.

Seriously,.. we as a family fell out of that a while back,.. too hectic.

I never buy stuff on that day..I will go out to the malls just to see people get trampled

I've heard others say the same thing.People seem to think they will get that year only deal on that day,but with how poor the American economy is..you can find deals from now until January. One day does not make a difference, you could be like terry who just watches people do dumb things.
