My post was predicated on if people are boycotting and the fact is the suggestion/proposition of boycotting happened.

If it happened it comes down to being just a few weirdos talking nonsense online. Similar to the weirdos who talked about boycotting Thor because Heimdall was black.

And The Force Awakens over a black storm trooper.

I heard it's bull$#1+ anyway. If anything it might even drum up more promo. No such thing as bad press, as they say.

Interesting.

Would hope he's been working on it already. Isn't 6 weeks kinds short to release an album of this magnitude?

Most likely been working on it for a while, but albums have been made in shorter times. 2pac recorded an entire album in 1-2 weeks iirc.

Kendrick song from the soundtrack:

apparently Kendrick is composing most of the soundtrack as well.

.@KendrickLamar, @DangerooKipawaa, and @TopDawgEnt will curate and produce "#BlackPanther: The Album, Music from and Inspired by the Film," including lead single “All the Stars” by @SZA. Listen to the single now: (link: http://bit.ly/2qqe0tv) bit.ly/2qqe0tv

It sounds like what Lorde did for Catching Fire—pull together songs from multiple artists.

V cool.

Kendrick is cool but he's the not the best man for the job IMO. He's just the biggest name. Madlib would've been better.

I trust that Marvel will have the songs fit the scenes and tones of the movie. Just because Kendrick is doing the music does not mean everything is in.

Madlib is a beast but Kendrick seems to have been groomed for this for awhile now.

Honestly, I was more surprised that this wasn't known. I thought his involvement was clear and an album made a ton of sense.

Most people figured that Kendrick would be involved, but nothing was ever made official.

I'm thinking this album is going to be similar to the Jay-Z American Gangster album where it's a soundtrack but also a concept Album for Kendrick.

Really hoping the new Kendrick song isn't played over the score..

Time to hear Ludwig's score. Also while great the trailers have been a bit abstract. Maybe they go for more story with this one. More dialogue from Boseman.

The songs don't have to fit the scenes or tones of the movie. It's a soundtrack not a score. Soundtracks just have to have songs loosely inspired by the film.

But as I said before I see this being a concept album similar to Jay-Z's American Gangster.

At the most I could see the soundtrack playing in the background in a scene as part of the environment, but most likely during the end credits.

Does Kendrick make beats I'm not really familiar with his production skills

I did like Kendrick on the Kanye song no more parties in la (madlib production)

But I was looking for this style on BP
