"Blueprints" Season 2: Episode 01 Discussion Thread

Exactly. EsPecially when you're throwing red herrings around. I can imagine the Q&A session & comic-con...

Fan: Hey, why did you guys use Peter MacNicol to voice Master Planner in Blueprints when it turned out to be Aunt May?

Greg: To fool everyone, duh. She was using a voice changer. Next Question.

It's Peter MacNicol, and, so? Multiple voices isn't unheard of.

Oh come off it. It'd be far easier to use an unknown actor if they were not intending it to be Doc Ock, or to keep Spidey fans who are familiar with the infamous comic book story guessing.

The ending to the latest episode is another nod to that. The Sinister Six is Ock's team in this cartoon. The Master Planner inviting Kraven to join it just further lends credence to it being Ock. And all that scientific stuff Mysterio stole for him in the previous episode, just like those trained mercenaries he had working for him in the comic book story. And Mysterio will also be in the Six.

And since the Sinister Six is Doc Ock's team, and he's not in it this season, but the Master Planner is inviting new members to take his place, it just lends even more credence that it's Doc Ock. He's pulling their strings. It's what he does.

Again, you're probably right. "Probably..."

Well, I hope I am. I know I might be wrong, but I don't think I am. It's a classic Spidey story....correction, it's a vintage Spidey story. I hope they intend to stay true blue to it. These guys claim to be massive fans of the Lee/Ditko Spidey comics.

It's why nobody believes Harry is the real Green Goblin before Norman. That'd be like putting the cart before the horse.

yea we will hopefully know by the end of the season the whole gobby true identity with his arc. As for master planner its very likely to be ock they dont really have any reason to make it someone else.

I guess I've not been following things but I thought that Greg had confirmed that Harry was the first goblin?

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned yet the sly foreshadowing exchange at the Osborn/Connors/Warren dinner:

Mr. Warren: How's Gwen working out?
Martha: Oh, wonderfully!
Curt: Wish we had more like her!

actually he didnt, and alot believe harry was just a cover for norman who was really the goblin the whole time while harry was using an earlier more unstable sample of the goblin formula.

OHHH MYY GODDZZ! The Master Planner is Aunt May!!!!!!:wow:

There was even foreshadowing of this in "The Invisible Hand".

Pete: Aunt May! You planned this? You're an evil mastermind!

Or they're out to jerk hardcore fans around, as with the Big Man and the Green Goblin.

That would certainly foreshadow Otto wanting to marry her.

Ultimate Carnage Gwen?

yea since greg has stated he doesnt like carnage and likely isnt going to be using him any time soon. If there is any clone business in this series i want to kept to just spidey and gwen.

He said that?
Awww...:csad:

Regarding clones...if the arc is as good as the Ultimate one, then it'll be awesome.

I don't see what was so great about the Ultimate Clone Saga myself. I mean all that resulted from it was Doc Ock becoming a mini-Magneto, MJ becoming a red Sasquatch and Ultimate Spider-Woman whose only made one appearance since.

I believe Kletus Cassidy is going to make an appearance this season

well i haven't seen any of this season yet cause they don't like letting us get shows at the same time as everyone else

yea as the other web said just watch it online. Heck even if it was airing in us first i wouldnt be able to watch it on tv since my on campus cable service doesnt get the network the show is on so i would have been stuck just watching it online anyway.

I don't have toon disney either. Online is the only way for me.

My review of the episode:

Blueprints

Here it is, episode one of season two. A whole year of waiting, and the debt appearance of Mysterio. This was one of my most anticipated episodes of the series. Unfortunately I had to wait another day until it was posted on you tube.
The plot is simple and interesting. Mysterio, the master of illusion is stealing technology from Tricorp and OsCorp while Peter hasn’t even talked to Gwen and has Liz flirting on him. Peter then finds out Mysterio is….. Someone he forgot

The episode itself was great. Many people commented on the nightmare with Venom which you need to see for yourselves, but it isn’t anything special (how did Eddie just disappear?) I wondered how they will keep action in this episode with ol’fishbowl, but it didn’t feature much on action and focused more on comedy but the excitement was there. Spidey used his Spidey sense a lot to make sure what was illusion and not.
Poor Gwen, Peter hasn’t even spoke to her yet and I can smell a lot of Liz later (sigh). That was annoying to see her as a main character again. No offence, she isn’t interesting. Peter is smart but stupid about girls. They’re all wearing coats which is a nice change of design. Doesn’t Peter’s shirt ever get dirty?
Now to Mysterio. I’ve always loved him and still do. Sean gives him a new classic look. I would like more back story on him though except Chameleon. His voice was… well, weird. He speaks like Shakespeare, at first it is kind of cool but is very annoying after a while. I love his vain personality, and the way he uses “magic”. Those gargoyles of his crack me up! They blow up like gobby’s bombs!
It is a nice opening to season two with great jokes of Monty, The 60’s spidey, and others. Norman returns, still creepy as usual and Warren appears. Does Harry’s mum ever speak? And Peter is Norman’s pupil! Not to mention a cameo from the creator of Spiderman, The Terrible Tinkerer and Master Planner whose identity will be a good mystery later? NUFF SAID!

Overall a great episode focused on jokes and entertainment, but two nitpicks with Liz and Mysterio. Funniest episode yet. 9/10

lolz when i saw Mysterio utter those enchantments i was like WTF he cant own Spidey hes suppose to be a noob villian, then it turned out it was special effects which explained everything
