Exclusive: Disney prevails over Trian in board fight, sources say

Walt Disney Co has secured enough shareholder votes to defeat a challenge against its board mounted by Nelson Peltz's hedge fund Trian Fund Management, people familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.

Enough votes had been cast as of Tuesday evening to put Disney's board directors safely ahead of Trian's two challengers, that included Peltz and former Disney chief financial officer Jay Rasulo, the sources said.

Blackwells Capital, another hedge fund that nominated three board director candidates at Disney, was also unsuccessful in its attempt, the sources said.

The right people triumphed. GOOD.

Say what you will about Iger, but Peltz and his cronies would've destroyed Disney from within and thank god they and Blackwells Capital didn't get a seat at the table. Complain all you want about the state of their movies, but it could always be so much worse.

Yes. The right people won. VERY GOOD!

I do think there need to be changes at Disney and I wouldn't mind a shakeup at the top, but I'm glad that Nelson Peltz will not be a part of it.

Also, he's a moron. Basically bashed the Black Panther franchise. If you're a shareholder, this guy trashed a franchise that brought the company billions of dollars. Moron. Absolute moron. He calls Marvel movies "a Marvel."

Nelson Peltz was not going to right any ship. Dude clearly knows nothing about comics, movies, or filmmaking.

Not sure if this is just lost in context, but I was referring to Peltz, not you. It's such a lame "...Until next time. You'll never truly defeat us" threat to make when he doesn't understand Perlmutter's streak has consistently been "You'll never truly defeat me...until next time" for like the last ten years.
