The Dark Knight BOF have 1st pic of the Batman's costume for TDK (sorta...)

batcowl_TDK1.JPG

The ears on the cowl are too bloody short. The BB cowl was pretty damn good - all they had to do was just tweak the design a little so that it doesn't look weird from certain angles and make the neck portion more flexible and it would've been perfect.

Not liking this one bit.

Not to worry, Phaser, it's probably just a problem with the graphite. The next two will be up to specification.

people who get their panties in a bunch over the length of bat ears on the bat cowl amuse me.

Ok, if these are real(i'm still a bit skeptical) could they possibly belong to the wannabe vigilante?

I don't think so. The vigilante is said to have a 'makeshift' Batman costume. Where's he going to get a close to exact replica of the real Batman's cowl in Gotham only a few months after his emergence in the city? For that matter, no one ever got a good look at him in Begins, so it's definately not for a wannabe Batman.

Those masks are his.

Very interesting. I wonder if this will this be the cowl for the whole flick or will it change. Or if this is the cowl from the second suit and the first suit will have the same cowl as Begins.

these could be stunt cowls for the Batmobile as far as we know, which could account for the shorter ears. Which is really hard to tell from this pic. There are always many cowls used for the films for different scenes. This doesnt look any different from the Begins cowl, aside from the neck being thinner. (more flexible)

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Who cares if the ears are shorter, cowl still looks solid.

As long as they don't give the cowl white drawn on eyebrows.

Amen! God, I opened this thread and someone is saying something to the affect of: "Well, the cowl is still the same, what a disappointment."

HUH?

The BB cowl was amazing, why should you be disappointed if they use it again. Jeeze.

That picture blows, I can't believe people are actually analyzing it and having a discussion about it.

Really? You can't believe people are analyzing it and discussing it? You know this is superherohype.com right? :woot:

it's hard to really tell how much shorter those ears are. look at the BB suit and these, we're talking an inch or less, right?

hopefully they justify this change. Batman is chasing someone and runs through a doorway, but his ears catch on the doorframe and he falls. yep, that works.

It could be.

Batman and the Wannabe Vigilante must look similar, or else The Joker wouldn't question if he's really Batman or not (like in the sides).

And I think this cowl looks great (since it's obviously real now).

I'm fine with it. Reminds me more of the Jim Lee style ears.

Also, isn't that what lot of people wanted for Begins? Lol, can't satisfy people ever.

They look quite flimsy.

But maybe that's due to the fact that they appear to be stuffed with paper. Why aren't they on styrofoam heads?

Or maybe that's just a bad picture, because it appears to be taken from a camera phone.

does anyone else notice that the bottom of the cowl looks different. maybe the clasps like in begins wont be there this time.

Can someone please explain to me how they can tell the neck is more flexible. Because I can definitely see a change in the ears (which I like), but how exactly does the neck look more flexible?
