Boston Marathon Terror Attack - Part 2

I could have sworn there was mention of someone else other than the brothers with an explosive vest on that was considered to be a suspect.

If this is so I do hope that the individual has been found arrested and taken into custody. I don't like the thought of someone else out there running free and plotting and planning another deadly attack against us in another city.

It does seem that way, but I can't comprehend how a seemingly normal teenager could ever be convinced to be part of something like this.

My theory is he desperately sought the approval of his older brother and would do anything to get it, much like Dylan Klebold was dependent on Eric Harris, the Columbine mastermind, and Lee Boyd Malvo was dependent on John Muhammed, the DC sniper. In all three cases, the latter was the sociopathic mastermind and the former was a manipulated sad case who couldn't (or didn't want to) escape their influence or control.

One of his friends said his brother was more like a father to him with their dad being in Russia.

I'm quite happy with his brother being dead and him living. He could be rehabilitated eventually (but never forgiven), but his older brother was just a mad dog zealot.

Way to go, Big Papi.

Yeah, Tamerlan sounds like the real bad guy here. Dzhokhar could've been a hatebag, too, but I agree that it sounds more like he was codependent on Big Brother.

My guess is that Tamerlan was, in fact, a lone wolf (who took his kid brother along as a sidekick) who was "auditioning" for a shot at al-Qaeda or other militant groups, and the Marathon bombing was his way of attracting their attention.

I kept wondering if the police might accidentally walk into someone growing weed or cooking meth in their basement by accident. Would have made a hell of a day even more interesting.

Do you think they'd have done anything, given the situation at hand?

I'd imagine they would overlook weed. Not sure about meth though.

Under these circumstances, your right to refuse entry isn't valid, since it's exigent circumstances.

It's an interesting quandary. They needed all hands on deck yesterday, so I doubt they would have diverted even a few resources to a meth arrest, but they probably would have confiscated it and recorded the person's name and address for later. Knowing how affluent and sleepy Watertown is, I could see weed and unprescribed painkillers being found, but I would be very surprised if there's even one meth smoker there. People around here look down on that as a white trash drug.

On another note, just saw a new interview with Uncle Reslan. Could that guy be any cooler and down to earth? Shame he got saddled with two wastes for nephews (and a deep-in-denial brother).

Unless, they had written down the address and waited to raid the house later.

what a surreal week. i live and work in boston, just wow.

Not so much a joke, but with what happened I wouldn't be shocked if the Boston PD would think people would need to light up just to relax.

What? For weed? I think they had better things to do. Half of Boston homes probably have weed in them. Probably more here since it's near several colleges.

As long as you let the cops in, and play along, you could probably answer the door smoking a bong.

Meth and cocaine are another story.

I was talking about a Meth Lab.

Well that would just be comical.

Hear over the police scanner "the meth lab is clear, copy".

Was it on TV? Damn, I was out but had planned on watching what they had planned.

I was wondering if anyone else heard this last night, this was during the point of him being captured and or arrested. There was so much coverage and news reporters talking I hadn't heard anything else about it. It was reported that two males and one female were taken into custody. Might have been because they knew him or were close to where he lived. I'm unclear about the details about this, so I'm sorry if I'm so vague.
Yeah, I mentioned it here last night but it mostly got lost in all of the excitement. But I believe they were students at the school that the younger suspect went to, so I imagine they were friends or dorm mates.

I'm quite happy with his brother being dead and him living. He could be rehabilitated eventually (but never forgiven), but his older brother was just a mad dog zealot.
Yeah, all things considered, I think this was the best scenario. Sure more info could have been gotten out of the brother since he seems to be the one who orchestrated this, but its better that the cops killed him as opposed to him killing himself because that would mean that he was dying to protect something.

I find this funny/ironic because I was watching this "reality" show recently where this guy saw smoke coming out of a door, and after knocking on it, he decided to kick the door in because he thought there was a fire. Turns out it was an old couple smoking from a hookah machine, and I believe it was for medicinal purposes, so the guy felt like an idiot.

Oh god. All of my Facebook "friends" are going on and on and on about how all this is staged because they haven't seen footage from the 7/11 or then cops dash cams. It hasn't even been 48 ****ing hours!! Smh
