The whole Shadow King thing was last issue, not the new one :).

Holy **** dude,it never ends with you.You honestly need to shut the hell up.It's getting really annoying real fast.Just go to the DC forums or something, you're a frikkin' non-stop whiny little child.

Oh, and two more points.

1) Notice that your childish rant came RIGHT below my reviews of several Marvel books, all of which were favorable. Feel dumb now?

2) If you'd like to go through my posts...all 3700 of them, you will notice that I was EXACTLY the opposite when I came to these boards. Marvel and DC's decisions have flipped the switch for me. I'm a HUGE Marvel fan, moron...you think I ENJOY not liking what they're doing these days?

genesis: oh great, another poster stuck up his own ass. u dont listen to recommendations? fine. i was saying i do. i cant afford to buy every book under the sun to try them out. i try LISTENING TO OTHER PEOPLE'S VIEWS and go from there. that in itself isnt too difficult for your mind to comprehend is it? i didnt say i then jump on the wagon. since when have i agreed with, like, ANYBODY on these boards huh?

Hmmm, usually when people start beating the CAPS button like it stole something, it means you've hit a nerve. That's truly unfortunate. But it's cool, I know it's difficult to come out of that nice comfortable shell, how scary it is to actually get out and do some legwork...actually I don't, but don't worry about it bro. On a side note, if you don't agree with anyone (which happens to be a big ass lie, I'm talking J-Lo big) then maybe you should find a new method.

Heh, which works fine when he takes the average tripe pumped out by the 'top' overly critical sum*****es (watching old SCSA tapes sorry) instead of forming his own views. Yeah, just keep ingesting what someone else has to say, so much easier than standing on your own two, 'eh?

Well, I really dont see anything wrong in checking out a title someone recommends him. Whats the big deal? Comics are expensive, if he decides to buy a comic most on here like and enjoy, its a pretty sound investment. If he buys a comic that Joey Q' says will be huge and awesome and he likes the diea and buys it, its a sound investment. The days of people going to the comic book store and picking up a title because the cover looks cool are over because most cant afford that.

Well at least someone can see the root of the comment. The point is that there's no secret that the majority of guys that make a practice of recommending things have some strong inherent (sp?) bias against major titles, which effectively shuts off choices that someone may like if they gave it a chance. On the flip-side, buying what Marvel tells you to buy, well that's what got Thing cancelled since they usually push nothing but flagship and flagship motivated events.

My solution was to do some internet research, get several different views and then go out a buy something. I never said he had to go into poverty buying random titles till something stuck. In addition, if he knows his favorite characters, then he has a core to work with it.

I agree with this, though the thing is I believe myself pretty bias but I have recommended Ultimate titles to people before and *gasp* even things by Bendis. I agree that research should be done to see if youll enjoy a title, and if you hear about a new title that sounds interesting its always wise to check out the writers previous work to see if hes any good. Thats what I do at least.

You lack discipline!

I personally have bought books based on you guys and your recommendations, and I have yet to be let down. Runaways and She-Hulk are perfect examples.

Explain to me how Avengers Disassembled wasnt a bad idea from the get go again.
The idea was to take Marvel's biggest super-team and actually make them Marvel's biggest super-team. The premise was to unleash a threat buried in Marvel continuity and use it as a spring-board for bringing this book back to its former greatness.

Did it succeed? I'd say so. Was Disassembled that great of a tale? No. Was it terrible? Well, that's all opinion. When you factor in Avengers Finale, I'd say that it was an interesting story that resulted in two of Marvel's best books (New and Young Avengers).

So, while the results may seem questionable to you, I'm inclined to disagree.

Yeah, that and I haven't finished Witty and Caustic Comebacks Volume II, but when I do....

*Shakes fist at Doc and Darth Homer Simpson style.*

What they did was take Marvel's biggest team and made them Marvel's biggest Marketable team. The threat that was unleashed from "continuity" is not based on continuity as Dr. Strange himself has used Chaos magic.
The book didnt need to be brought to it's former greatness because it was selling. Johns was writing the book and doing a very good job.

Ok, ill take it. But I dont know how you cany say it actually turned the Avengers into Marvel's biggest super team when they got their asses handed to them by ninjas, but whatever.

Stop the arguing and move on guys....otherwise I will have to come in here time after time again and regail you with stories about the good ol' days and how kids didn't act this way in my time...over and over again.

Won't that be fun.

Actually it does.

Hulk is owning right now, like pick it up or die. Incredible Hulk#96 9/10

Uncanny X-Men- Hmm, haven't been following this, but from what I read, I like. Art was good too, although Beast was a little wack. 8/10

The Thing #8 Dan is my hero. 10/10

I also got Brave New World, and wow that was awesome. I really want to read some of those titles now, so yay my wallet dances for joy.:(

I didn't do it!!

Wow... almost 5 pages, and I've read about 6 reviews...

:(

I'll say this much..I usually do alot more reading on these boards than posting ..and when I visit the BOUGHT/THOUGHT threads i usually scroll right down to dreads reviews , not only are they spot on, they are coherent and well thought out.

Fact is, Marvel is making mistakes. They certainly are now, and they certainly have always been.

I think it's ridiculous whats happening on alot of message boards..namely half the boards at the marvel universe site. (the unofficial one). These boards are moded by people scarred half to death of any critical viewpoint and are worried sick that 'industry' folks will be scared away if too much proliferates.
The avengers board there is ridiculous where you cant say hardly anything remotely critical or wind up getting banned for life. I got banned for life for saying i thought House of M and civil war "stunk".

Just becuase somone is critical of directions or story arcs , doesnt mean they are not a marvel comics fan.

I like this board becuase it doesnt jump the gun on stuff like that.

They kicked Ninja ass, and you know it. :spidey:

That's an understatement. :D This is definitely the most negatively-oriented "fansite" forum I've ever seen in my life.

Im guessing you havent gone to the DC Comics boards, Newsarama, Comicbook Resources, The John Byrne Boards, Comicboards.com etc.
