My point was just that they're familiar with psychic powers, at least. If they can duplicate so many other powers, they've gotta be able to duplicate powers that are so similar to ones they already possess, right?

I suppose so. Some of those powers go a little beyond their standard dulpication process, though.

Like what? They must be faking those with technological facsimiles the way Tony, Reed, and Hank did with Clor.

Well, like Xavier's powers or Strange's powers. Those would be difficult to fake without just trying to dulpicate them as best they can through scientific means. Even then, they wouldn't be nearly as powerful as the originals.

Xavier's powers are scientific, though. They're the result of his X-factor gene, like every other mutant's powers.

Yeah, but the Skrulls are shapeshifters. They generally stick to duplicating physical powers. Duplicating mental powers seems like a tougher gig.

They did it well enough for Kl'rt with Sue's powers. Those are psionic in nature. They also seem to be better at duping powers in general now.

Sue's powers are physical in appearnce, though. I don't know. I always looked at the Skrulls' duplication process as being based in shapeshifting and not actual power signature duplication.

They also duplicated the Silver Surfer's powers.

For Xavier, it's been shown they can make synthetic psychics with SHIELD, so the Skrulls might do it.

They also have holographic projection, creating illusions, and can create destructive bolts, emulating Strange. We haven't seen Strange do anything lately that wouldn't fit that, omit the Wolverine stint.

In Ms. Marvel, they had one of her team have this thing strapped to her head permanant style, and when they removed it, she lost her psychic abilities.

Ultimates 3 #1 - After reading a summary on another board,I decided to pick this up.Now obviously compared to the previous 26 issues, there isn't a chance this book will be anything like what it was before.Anyone could reach Dread like levels in comparing the 2 runs.Loeb's made it clear that this is going to be more superhero oriented with less politics/world affairs issues going on.On it's own,I think it's a decent start to be honest. The fact that this team is made up of some messed up and imbalanced people is still evident.

Loeb's had some classics and duds in the past. It's clear that he's going with the more straight forward superhero type story here. His Superman/Batman issues were some fun action packed comics. They're an entertaining read because they don't try to do anything "socially relevant" or tell any tales of morality. Now if he can apply that same method with this run, this should turn out to be decent. But expect to be deeply disappointed if you're expecting something else.

The Order #5 - As usual, this felt like a double sized issue. The character intros are always a treat to read,Fraction can easily write everyday people from all walks of life, his dialog is one of his biggest strengths. This book balances so many different plots without giving you a headache and you gotta love the range this book offers.Giant lizards, emo ninja gangs, zoboes, black ops,and epic superhero battles.I will join Dread and Photo in endorsing this book, along with Thunderbolts,it's Marvel's best team book.

Black Summer #5 - Ryp delivers some Bay-esque action scenes here, the amount of detail is jaw dropping.Action pretty much the whole issue with enough healthy doses of explosions and blood in the streets. This book feels like what Ellis' swan song on the Authority could have been.

JSA #11 - I love the fact that this book is going overboard with the number of cast members. The bright old school costumes, fighting super villains and nazis...they might as well start calling this All Star Squadron. With all the doom and gloom that the coming of this Final Crisis brings,I'm glad to have an almost back to basics DCU superhero team book like this with all the colorful gaudy outfits and personalities.

So did anyone else pick up The Infinite Horizon #1?

I don't know if I'm going to read it as it comes out or wait until I have all the issues. I read somewhere that Brubaker equated it to poetry. Poetry is usually best served as a whole, instead of being broken up.

Fear Agent is a doozy so far.Picked up both trades of the first series and I'm only into the first chapter but so far so good.I love this out of this world sci fi stuff, more easy going than Planetary, but still in the same league.

Another convert.

I know I just didn't read someone make a vague Fear Agent/Planetary comparison.
