I'm of that consensus that Bendis' ideas aren't always the problem, but the execution. Don't get me wrong, sometimes his ideas are total garbage, but lousy execution can ruin a good idea, and can make a bad idea even worse. Slott has better execution. As a master of continuity, he would include bits from whatever Bendis was doing in the other two titles or from other books into his own if it made sense. For example, I would be surprised if INCREDIBLE HERC didn't get some nods, since Hercules is on this team now. I would even be happy if he mentioned some stuff from YOUNG AVENGERS PRESENTS so that it "counts".

Frankly, Dan Slott on MIGHTY AVENGERS has been our best shot at a Busiek like Avengers in years, so it would be folly to not give it a try.

Haunted Tank - Good start. They accepted the ghost a little too easily maybe but otherwise I look forward to the rest of the mini.

GL Corps - So with the new "no relationships" rule I guess those married GLs are gonna be pretty pissed. Somebody probably switches to being a Star Sapphire because of it, too.

Totally agree.I loved all the crime elements Bendis brought into the book.

I've enjoyed Bru's DD as well,one my fav books.His take seems to be more in tune with Miller's approach which I just read recently.

Different strokes which work for the character.

I'm also digging Bru's run. Not as much as Bendis' run, but it's solid. His first arc was mind blowing, but since then, it's kind of been a rollercoaster. I'm really enjoying the current arc, though.

I just got caught up with the last 4 issues of Iron Fist, plus the Orson Randall and the Death Queen of California one-shot. They were all really good. I especially loved the Orson one-shot because Orson's narration gave it a noirish feel and Camuncoli's art is always so f***ing brilliant. I'm looking forward to the eighth heavenly city, but was anyone else confused about why only K'un L'un's immortal weapon gets killed all the time? Or will there be other Chi-Lin-like opposites for all the other cities' weapons in the eighth city? Should be cool.

I dont think Bendis will ever top the work he did on Daredevil with Maleev, that was just incredible stuff. It made Daredevil my favorite marvel hero by far, and Brubaker is still holding that strong. I cant wait to see what Maleev and Bendis do with Spider-Woman:Agent of Sword.

You trying to tell me taking the idea of "shape shifting aliens invade earth" and executing it as "some superheros wander throught the savage land" is poor execution??

Decently large week, especially with more Bendis event comics/preludes coming out and most of my books from Marvel being $3.99. Way to keep fans from not trade waiting, guys! Oh, wait, then the next strategy is to forgo with trades and just spit out higher priced mini HC's, like the INCREDIBLE HERCULES SECRET INVASION HC, coming out 4-6 months before the trade. This on top of a comic from last week that charged $4 for about 8 pages of story material and ads/reprints/filler. If the Big Two were Deadly Sins, DC would be SLOTH and Marvel would probably be GREED. Bendis himself would probably be PRIDE with DiDio being ENVY. But now I'm distracting myself.

Make more money, everything has gone up in price, or better yet get a 2nd job and stop typing 1,000 word reviews of comic books, serious it's called a review not a book. Dread would be LAME, oh that's not a deadly sin, damn, still you get the idea.
