The point being that I doubt anyone is referring to it as the bee's knees, or any kind of glowing terms, really. You can quote some people and prove me wrong though. If I remember right, I think Doc Destruction likes it, but I doubt he's raving over it.

What exactly are you trying to prove?

Well, Dusty can't really fall any further in my book. I'll just take the notches off Doc on principle.

It could have been me, for all I remember. That's how few people actually like that book now. I wouldn't even remember if it was myself.

Doc Destruction loses another couple notches in my book... :(

Oh hush, you.

It's average. I picked up 1 and 2 to see what the buzz was...and it's okay. Better than the crap Chris has been writing lately. My biggest complaint is the lack of diversity in the line up. It's pretty much just...the X-Men. Nowhere near as interesting as it's been in the past.

I will most likely drop it.

For as much as I loathe Claremont, I'm finding myself to be a a tad curious about that new X-Men project he's got going on. I like the character designs.

The line-up was one of my biggest complaints about it. It's definitely reverted to too much of an X-Men focus. While Bedard didn't really do a whole lot with people like Power Princess and Spider-Man 2099, the team was more interesting by default for having them rather than just being a total microcosm of X-characters.

It started out that way, but it evolved past that. Some of the most interesting stories had very little to do with X-Men-related stuff, too.

Well, and even the X-characters weren't just their default characters. They were alternate versions of themselves, and dramatically different from the 616 versions.

These guys are just...616 X-Men with a male Mystique, and Morph. Bleh.

Anyone know the issue number on that one? That's something I think I need to read.

Those Hyperion issues were very good. If you were hearing good things about Exiles, LS, odds are they were talking about the original Winnick Run or the World's Tour, both of which really were the Bee's Knees.

Exiles and Mutant X were both VERY underrated books for quite some time.

Exiles really puttered out at the end there.

I wikipedia-ed it. It's somewhere around #62-64 (although, my gut tells me it should be later than that. I never know when to trust Wikipedia.)

The Hyperion issues paled in comparison to the "With an Iron Fist" arc. That was the definite high point of the Exiles series to me. I'll take Wonder-Hulk and Karnak karate-chopping the Vision's arm off over veiled drug references with Hyperion any day. :oldrazz:
