I have only been getting the Hulk comics for years (don't get me started on Rulk) and just recently decided to start picking up other titles again. Any suggestions beside avenger titles and Dr.Voodoo?

I'm not sure what your tastes are, but my reliably great titles from Marvel right now are Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America, Incredible Hercules, and Thor. I hear Invincible Iron Man is great as well, but I haven't been reading it regularly myself. I'm picking it up again with the next arc, which starts next month, I believe. Fantastic Four seems to be starting up what could be a great run under Jonathan Hickman; his first two issues so far have been great.

I have been out of the comics for a long time (Hulk excluded) since the 90's (which killed most of my comic love at the time).

But 70's & 80's I mainly read Hulk, Spidey, X-Men, Avengers (all of them), Daredevil and most of the rest at one time or the other.

But I think you gave me some wonderful titles to start with. Just picked up Moonknight, Dark Avengers, New Avengers and Made Men.

I would not suggest getting the Made Men 1 shot comic.

Unfortunately, I'm recovering from a surgery and unable to drive atm. So I asked my wife to pick up some comics for me and I asked for anything with Avengers, my Hulk, Moonknight and anything with "the list" in the title.

She did a wonderful job, and I was thankful for her doing that for me, but I wasn't expecting the Made Men title. Much less having to pay 4 bucks for it.

I can second Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy for certain. I love those books.

I recommend NOVA, INCREDIBLE HERCULES, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, MIGHTY AVENGERS, AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE, and anything AGENTS OF ATLAS. FANTASTIC FOUR is heating up and THOR's alright.

Whatever the Vishanti are predicting seems to be huge if containing Dormammu is just the first step in Voodoo's process of thwarting it. There are mystical threats aplenty out there. Maybe containing Dormammu finally pisses him off enough to just force his way through into the main reality and the heroes finally have to face him at full power. That's a s***-your-pants powerful threat.

The fine line is to prevent a demonic/magical invasion story from seeming just like an alien invasion story.

But, yeah, that's not bad. The Vishanti once had Dr. Strange fight some magical war for like 500 years in another dimension and then forget it. They're crafty fellas.

Oh, Incredible Hulk is pretty good for "your" Hulk, provided you also like Banner. It's got a bit of backstory behind it right now, which I can fill in for you or you can read for yourself if you get the Planet Hulk and Skaar: Son of Hulk trades.

I just got caught up with Marvels Project,Ultimate Avengers and Reborn.

Marvels Project - This has potential to easily become one of the greatest things Bru has done for Marvel.Really,really good.Epting's churning out some of his best work here,his heavy use of shadow really goes along with the mood of the book.My favorite scenes so far has to be young Fury and Red extracting Erskine.Even though this heavy does of espionage,politics,history and superhumans is only 2 issues in,I have no doubt that this will be recognized as a classic in the years to come.

Ultimate Avengers - Kudos to Pacheco for really stepping up to the plate here.His art has always had this sense of movement and fluidity to it without being too cartoony.Millar's action scenes,which would be right at home in any over the top 80s action flick,call for some insane situations but Pacheco handles them with ease.I'm liking the fast pace Millar is using here and I'm looking forward to Fury's black ops crew.

Planetary #27 - Good ending to a great series. I re-read the whole series this week so I'd have it all fresh in my mind when I read the finale, and it definitely made me enjoy it more.

Amazing Spider-Man #608 - Boring issue, hardly anything happened, and the writing sucked (glad that Guggenheim is leaving after this arc). The Ben/Damon scenes were particularly difficult to get through because the two were drawn so similarly and the fact that Ben was mistakenly given some of Damon's word bubbles (and vice versa) made it hard to tell who was who.

Secret Warriors, Deadpool, and Incredible Hercules are Marvel's best books right now.

Agreed. In a way it is a shame it is coming out at the same time as CAPTAIN AMERICA REBORN, the mini that is getting all the attention and sales. Then again, MARVELS PROJECT debuted at nearly 90k, so that's an incredible debut for something like this. I agree, it has classic all over it.

The point is to tie in Marvel's Golden Age characters a bit better using forgotten ones that were there, but never tied in cohesively. For instance, the superhuman soldier Steele did pre-date Capt. America by a year print wise, and he only showed up in one or two comics, so it makes sense that he was some sort of mutant/metahuman that was experimented on later. Phantom Bullet also only showed up in one issue, so it makes sense that he's murdered quickly on and Angel has to investigate. It displays a fondness for the era and Brubaker & Epting's talent for revisiting it with modern sensibilities, without screwing everything up.

REBORN is an event, sloppy and predictable despite Brubaker's best execution of it. MARVELS PROJECT, though, is a genuine story that's closer to his heart, and the better work quality wise so far. Every issue has taken characters from a set year, which is great. Issue #1 was 1939, #2 was 1940, and the third should be 1941, a big year.

Captain America
Daredevil
Thor
Deadpool
Incredible Hercules
Invincible Iron Man
Secret Warriors
Mighty Avengers

I would also like to add that Hickman is off to a great start on Fantastic Four and Pak as well on Incredible Hulk that they might be favorites pretty soon as well.

Unfortunately JMS is leaving Thor soon and no permanent writer has been announced yet (although I think Fraction will take over after Gillen's arc).

No one knows who's writing after Gillen. hippie's just speculating. It does seem likely, though, given that Fraction's a fairly big name and Marvel would want a big name on Thor to keep up his sales.

Didn't Fraction already say he was burned out on writing Thor? On top of that, he's already writing two big franchise books solo already, I doubt he could (or would want to) take on a third.

Eh, no skin off my back. Provided whoever takes over after Gillen isn't horrible, I'm still excited. I've always wanted to see more writers take on Thor. Ironically, while other characters have trouble getting writers to stick around, Thor's had only a handful of writers over the course of his whole existence because most have stuck around for like dozens and dozens of issues. Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, Walt Simonson, Tom DeFalco, and Dan Jurgens all have pretty long runs on Thor.
