Bought/Thought-subs rule-Jan 24, 2007

X-Factor- PICK OF THE WEEK! Raimondi is perfect for this book. His style just fits so well. It's noir, but with a cleaner look. PAD has done wonders with this title. He really makes me love characters that I never even cared about, like Madrox and Monet. 9/10

Wolverine- This arc has potential. A lot of potential. The problem is, it has the potential to be just as good as this issue, but it could also turn out awful. I'm very glad I bought this, but I'm quite uneasy about that opening sequence. I hope Loeb doesn't go for a lame twist. I loved the back-up story, though. The art and coloring were just fantastic. 9/10

Transformers- Ok, I'm really enjoying this. Furman's new take on the classic bots is great. It has a "real-world" feel to it that sets it apart from a lot of other Transformers' series. Can't wait for the next issue. 8/10

Avengers Next- This is just old school fun. If you complain about Marvel's current direction, and you like classic comics, pick up the inevitable digest, please. I want Marvel to keep 'em coming. 8/10

Punisher- I didn't like the fact that Frank just walked out without difficulty. Other than that, another solid issue. The flashback showing Frank's past with Cap was well done. 8/10

Eternals- This might've been my favorite issue of the mini. JR is at the top of his game, and I really liked seeing his Iron Man and Yellowjacket. 8/10

Moon Knight- Mark really has problems. Khonshu is just plain twisted. I like how he's kind of become a supporting character, despite being the personification of Mark's dark side. Spider-Man's presence on the cover is fairly unnecessary, but his small role was still interesting. 8/10

Civil War: The Return- Why? That's my question. This issue was just plain useless. For all the hype, all we really get is what amounts to a preview for a new series. This would've fit in better with the Choosing Sides issue, because the Sentry story was pointless. They could've dropped that easily and just fleshed out the main story. I'm not totally against the Return itself because the death has only been delayed. I might have to try the upcoming series, but I was less than impressed with this. 5/10

I also read a couple trades this week:

Maus vol.1- Yeah, I'm just now reading Maus. Yeah, it's just as good as everyone has told me. Yeah, I can't wait to read the second volume. 9/10

Ultimate Iron Man- Now, I've heard some big bashing of this mini series. But I had a lot of time to kill between classes yesterday, so I read this in our Barnes and Noble in one sitting. To be honest... I didn't hate it. It's very different, but that's the type of thing the Ultimate Universe should do more often. Change things up. The art is fantastic, and I really liked Young Tony. My biggest problem is that there's no ending. Here I was enjoying the story and it ends with a "To be continued"? Big points off for that. 7/10

I don't know about you guys, but I read The Return and I came to one conclusion: Mar-Vell is a clone.

Oh yea, Ult Beast looks to be returning in UXM #81, and he's not blue anymore.

So what they gave him implanted memories? He could be a clone, but that would be kinda redundant.

There wasn't that much hype at all, just the preview in Marvel Previews and people talking about it on the internet, Marvel didnt promote it that much at all.

exactly. they learned from their screw up with Clone-Thor and they improved upon the next generation. I wouldn't put it past Tony and Reed to recreate the nega bands. and since when is Civil War not ever redundant?

I am very rushed today and hope to post full reviews tomorrow sometime.

What I BOUGHT:

52 WEEK #38

INVINCIBLE #38

DR. STRANGE: OATH #4

THE ETERNALS #6

MOON KNIGHT #7

It's possible, but I doubt he's a clone, I may be wrong, only time will tell.

What?! He can't come back! He died so long ago, and It meant something! Ultimate Beast's Death is like Marvel's Uncle B--wait, Buc--no, Mar-v--- Crap.:csad: But on the real, I was saddened when they killed him and he never came back. If it's true, I may be happy.

Well, my theory is that he never really died.

And no he's not a clone.

I hope he becomes an Ultimate instead of returning to the X-Men.

I just find it a little too contrived. I mean Reed Richards makes a boo-boo in calibrating his Negative Zone gateway that just so happens to suck in Captain Marvel? Reed knows how to get into the NEgative Zone, he might as well have a summer-home there. and why Captain Marvel? Why not Spidey from his time there, or Blastaar, or Anhillus. Instead we get a character who can neither confirm nor deny whether they ever went to the future or not (since Reed and Sentry were obviously talking about sending Mar-Vell back at some point). also they just so happened to pull a hero with a ticking clock!

lets not forget they've been talking about cloning heroes, they did it with Thor. I say this is another Clone.

Haha, Beast's death didn't mean squat. Some bricks fell on him in a fight and though I jumped for joy(cuz I hated him), it was a pretty "meh" death.

It said that they were calibrating their Negative-Zone gateway and they accidently pulled him from the past. that would ahve to be the biggest case of Serendipity since... DAMNED IF I KNOW OFA BIGGER CASE!

I don't think anything could convince me to buy 2 copies of a book, I don't care how close to cancellation it is.

Fine I'll buy 3 copies to make up for you, plus I'll buy any variant that comes out, and I'll buy the 2nd and 3rd printings if it does good enough to have multiplr printings. Damn it I want Flight to succeed, I loves me some Flight, I loves me some Beta Ray Bill, and Damn it I wanna find out whats up with that 2nd group of Alpha Flight that where up in space when the other ones got killed by the Collective.

Well Reed has been pretty stressed out lately.

Is Beta Ray bill even canadian?

I reiterate, between Reed and Tony, they might as well have a summer home in the Negative-Zone, getting there is old hat, as is getting back out. a screw-up of the magnitude it would take to accidently pull Cap Marvel through time... I just don't buy it.

He's not even an earthling, his human counterpart is, but I dont think he's Canadian. Plus I think Gaurdian is the only Canuck on Omega Flight.

Gaurdian
Beta Ray Bill
USAgent
Arachne
Talisman

Well he's not a clone, I'll bet you a hundred million, billion, fafillion dollars.

Maybe it was Mar-Vell that affected there calibration.
