Jason Bourne Goes to South America?

Producer Frank Marshall revealed to IESB plans to begin shooting a fourth Jason Bourne movie next Summer, for release in 2010. Universal announced the project back in February, with director Paul Greengrass and star Matt Damon set to return. Marshall also confirmed that they will probably be creating an original story for the fourth film, since author/creator Robert Ludlum wasn’t involved in the later books in the series.

“There was a fourth book written, but it was not by Mr. Ludlum. So we’re probably going to take our own direction and we’re working on what that storyline’s gonna be right now.”

And where will this new adventure bring us? Marshall is predicting that Bourne will journey to “South America.”

Yeah that just seems a little weird. I'm surprised if its getting done this quickly.

A fourth movie, if it works out would really cement this as the American Bond franchise. And Paul Greengrass gets to complete his Bourne trilogy. The Bourne Supremacy was rated amongst the top 50 classic modern movies of the last 25 years by EW.

Maybe we will finally get some action figures too. At least some Sideshow Collectibles pieces would be nice.

I'm happy to see Bourne returns, since the trilogy is great and they should keep making them. I'm glad to see Damon back after his declaration that he won't be back after part 3.

An interesting angle would be to take some elements from that 4th book...revisiting Bourne many years later, living life as David Webb/College Professor. Only from there, make it so the Government needs his help for something...kinda like a 'come out of retirement mission.

After trying to avoid them after so many years, this time they're searching him out for another reason...they need his help.

...or something to that effect.
