I'm glad they are doing a 4th movie, i was one of the one's dissapointed in the 3rd movie as i expected some more answers. The big revelation that he volunteered for the program was something that was obvious from the start for me.

It would be nice to know a bit more about David Webb before he became Jason Bourne.

I thought they were about to expose a previous relationship with julia styles character . I was actually kind of suprised they only hinted she had a thing for him but nothing further.

It's a joke comparing it to Daniel Day Lewis, that's his famous line from the movie that EVERYONE talks about. Whenever you see an ad or hear a spot on the radio (and they've been repeated RIDICULOUSLY here in Hollywood) it's all built around I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE! In the movie its a metaphor for Daniel Day Lewis's character stealing all the oil from someone else's land who now has nothing left.

Gee, I wonder why anyone would enlist in the military and be willing to give up their entire life for their country. Sorry for the sarcasm, but it was mainly to answer your question. He's an elite, diehard military soldier and he's being asked to join a program and sold what turns out being a line of bull. He thought he was ending his personal life for the good of his country and "saving American lives". That's the reason right there.

Well, we learned why he joined and who was behind Treadstone and Blackbriar originally. We learned why he was in New York at the end of the second film.

Damon and Greengrass talk quadrilogy

You see Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass on the Sony Ericsson Empire Awards red carpet, what's the one question you ask them? What's going on with Bourne 4, that's right.

"We’ve just kind of been amused by the whole thing," said Matt Damon of the rumour suddenly circulating everywhere after a Variety article last week. "I think it’s one of these stories that has a life of it’s own. Not that we’re against it, we’re all for doing a fourth movie but it means coming up with a good story. There are a lot of things that would have to happen before we would sign up for it."

So, that's what the leading man says, but what about the director? "What does Matt say?" asks Greengrass. "He says yes? It’s news to me. I think the truth is that it’s a very well loved franchise, but we’re in the process of trying to work out what kind of film you could make. If there is one, what would it be? How it could go? Without any pressure; without any commitment to it, but everybody loved the franchise. We love it, but none of us would want to go again unless we’re sure there’s a worthwhile film and that could take some time. You don’t want to do that when you feel like you’ve got to make it and none of us need to, so that’s where we are".

In short: Bourne 4 is far from definite and we only want to see it if Greengrass and Damon are on board. We imagine many readers would feel the same.
