In just four and a half days, Michael Bay's Transformers has crossed the $100 million mark, adding an additional $22.4 million on Friday to put it ahead of the established Pixar film Ratatouille and Bruce Willis action sequel Live Free or Die Hard in terms of box office gross. Its first Friday is pointing to a three-day weekend in the range of $62 to 65 million.

The Robin Williams headlined romantic comedy License to Wed had its best day, earning $3.7 million on Friday, pointing to a weekend of roughly $10 to 11 million, though the best it can do is fourth place for the weekend.

SWEET, BWAHAHAHA, I'M RIGHT ON THE MONEY, I'M A GENIUS,:o:oldrazz: WAY TO GO TF!!!:D:up:

You know, as happy as i am that it was released on Tuesday, i would have loved it if it was releassd on a Friday, so we can shut up all those Spiderman fans, after TF wipes the floor with it's Friday-Sunday B.O numbers! :D

Well done Transformers. Bring on the sequel!

$165 million, not bad...And that's not counting the international numbers. My guess is that dreamworks, come monday morning, is going to give the green light to sequel.. Probably 2009?

Well it cost 100 mil less than SP3, so regardless of how much more it does, it's prolly going to be much more profitable.

Yeah, i would just have loved it released on Friday, so it could have 'officially' crushed SM's record and become the new B.O trendsetter.

I AM FIRST AND FOREMOST A SPIDEY FAN,:o SO DON'T INSULT THE WEBHEAD'S FANS!!!:oldrazz: SERIOUSLY THOUGH I'M ECSTATIC TF IS DOING SO WELL, AS I PREDICTED!!!:o:oldrazz::D

I'm a Spidey fan too, i've just been MIA from over on those boards after SM3 left suck a sour taste in my mouth.

DUNST MUST DIE!:oldrazz:

I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY SOME PEOPLE SUCH AS YOURSELF DIDN'T LIKE THE FILM, I ENJOYED IT FOR THE MOST PART,:o BUT I DO HAVE ISSUES WITH IT!!!:( HOW DARE YOU WISH DEATH UPON THE DUNSTER!!!:mad::oldrazz::D

Dunst's whining is what killed the Spiderman movies for me as a whole, but it really nailed the coffin shut in SM3. She looked and acted terrible. I can't see why all these guys (Pter, Flash, Harry, etc) are fighting over a girl that looks as meh as her...that is unless she get the best pootang in NYC! :D

I had numerous issues with SM3 too many to name here. You'd think that the producers of this movie would at least make her look half decent. She looked good in SM1 then went down hill in SM2, and looked like road kill in SM3. Sorry Dunst fans. I don't buy the MJ charm from her, at all. MJ's soppose to be spunky, a fire cracker. Not a depressing, penis hungry ****, that because of the troubled relationship with her dad, she looks for the approval of anything with a swinging ding-a-ling. Sorry for the SM rant, on a TF board but Dunst has to go. And she had the nerve to say in a recent interview that any future Spiderman films without her would suck..:whatever: what is she smoking? :csad:

Anyhow, i'm over joyed that Transformers is killing the B.O. I just hope Harry Potter doesn't take too much of it's glory away, but TF should stay in the top 5 of the b.o at least until August.

This will definately guarantee a sequel. And allow the writers a little freedom with the CGI budget.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at Paramount come this Monday morning. I know all those stiff suited CEO's, and snooty secretarys over there will be dancing on the office table tops, and spraying each other with champagne, after they see the B.O receipts!

LOL, YEAH THEY'LL BE DANCING IN THE ISLES AFTER THIS WEEKEND!!!;) I LIKE THE HARRY MOVIES BUT I'M A MUCH, MUCH BIGGER TF FAN, SO I'M HOPING FOR THE BEST ONCE HARRY HITS!!!;) AS FAR AS KIRSTEN GOES, YOU MAKE SOME VERY GOOD POINTS AND I AGREE WITH MOST!!!:( MJ IS SPUNKY AND NOT BOUNCING FROM GUY TO GUY ALL THE TIME, SHE LOVES PETER AND EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY HAVE PROBLEMS, THAT SMALL FACT SHOULD MEAN THAT SHE'S A ONE MAN WOMAN!!!:o:D:up:

AWESOME. I'm glad it's doing so well. I never thought in a billion years it would flop, but it's still cool to see it doing well. For any problems I had with it, I still want a sequel as soon as possible. :yay:

I know that my predictions abilities has been failing me lately
(Gosh darn it! I used to be so good at it!)
Anyways I have the gut feeling that the transformers should destroyed the competition
Otherwise people are out of their rockers!

And I pity guys like Scott Holleran from boxofficemojo.com
It’s obvious he didn't watch the transformers as a kid
And therefore doesn't understand the concept of it all.

Oh yeah!
And I want Unicron to be the main attraction
He could easily resurrect Megatron in the sequel.
Just imagine how spectacular it would be!

Unicron is just as big if not bigger than the planet earth itself .

I wonder who would win in a fight betweens Unicron ,Galactus and ego prime.

The sequel has already been greenlit. It happened before this one opened, probably due to the strength of the advance buzz (and screenings).

So, who were the people who thought it would be struggling again McClaine Light?

I've heard nothing but praise (i.e. "Awesome" "I've seen it twice" ect.) from the general public, and you would have had to be on crack to think this could've flopped. It's THE movie of summer, no doubt.

Congrats to you guys. Its always good to see a movie with characters you grew up with do well at the B.O.
I havent saw it yet, but I will next week, along with my daughter..

Unicron would, generally, be a bad decision. It would result in too much going on and too much of a children's imagination running wild to strike a chord with the general movie going audience. The scope of the franchise would be better served following what the X-men series did.

I'd rather see Starscream step in and try to lead before Soundwave resurrects Megatron.

Now that sounds like an awesome idea.

If this ****er beats Titanic, I'm happy.

Heck, even if Harold and Kumar Make a Gay Porn beats Titanic, I'm happy.
