That's such a hard question to answer... even good writers can still be hit and miss on occasion.

How about JJ Abrams? Or Stan Lee even though he is straight up Marvel (but he works for Disney now so that's out of the question anyway). I'd be excited if George Lucas wrote it, as long as he wasn't directing it.

Anybody but the idiots who wrote the first one. I like the movie but the logic and plotholes just spelled out 'carelessness' on their part.

Maybe some of the writers that worte the early TF comics.

None of the "big box office" movies are King Lear, that's not what makes them fun but I do agree, a little logic can't hurt.

They should at least let some of the highly regarded Transformer comic writers advise the Hollywood writers or submit rough drafts.

Would that be too much to ask? :whatever:

My favorite scene in the comics, is about Prime making a speech about the difference between being a leader and a soilder when he goes toe to toe with Devastator and takes him down.

So around 40 more till 300 Mil. domestic...

It's a cake walk!

I fear for the next Star Trek movie...

Since you are one of the bigger Star Trek fans, do you think the "trendier/hipper" cast is going to stay true to the original movies or are we essentially getting more "actiony".

writing wise, I'm not sure at all... judging from Transformers, Star Trek may be more action than story, and that's not really good for Star Trek.

I really wish Carp_man would come over here and talk trash. That guy makes the most ridiculous claims possible, and then he stands by them after he's been proven horribly wrong.

LOL. I've been reading the discussions taking place in the fantastic four threads for the past couple of weeks and you're right about Carp_man. I remember him predicting that X-Men 3 would make 300 million domestically. 90% of the predictions that he has made in the past year have been way off.

What I found to be really interesting about the posters in that forum is most of them consider transformers to be the silliest movie of the summer. I think that's a ridiculous perspective to have after considering all the scenes of Jack sparrow talking to himself in Pirates 3 and the countless wth moments in Spiderman 3. I haven't seen FF2 but, I heard it was just as silly as Pirates and Spiderman. In reality I don't transformers humor was anymore silly than all of these films. I actually liked most of the humor in it. Most of the humor in Pirates made me cringe. Some of the humor in Spiderman worked but, some of it felt out of place.

I think it's ridiculous when a fan of a comic book thinks another comic book is ridiculous. The pot will call the kettle black!

Carp_man has about 15-20 posts berating Transformers, both before and after it's release. He thought it would drop 70% it's second weekend. He said no one other than fanboys would see it. He said Potter would own it. He still says Potter will still own it. He says it's the silliest idea ever (this is coming from someone who likes a show about a rock man, stretchy guy, invisible woman, and a guy who is on fire). He continues to berate it, even admist his backtracking about how it would perform. All this, and he's never seen the movie.

I predicted that fantastic four would make 125 to 130million four weeks ago and most people in that forum laughed at me. Once fantastic four stops making money I will return to that thread and remind all the haters about my prediction.:woot:

Yeah Carp-man has to been talking with his head up his ass. Transformers is the biggest success story of the summer with insane wom. everyone was wrong in thier predictions including me i thought it would do WOTW numbers at best. now that its gonna fly be 300 is great its good to be a Transformers fan. Btw FF2 sucked ass hard

I don't go over there and hate on FF2 at all, I just talk about box office numbers and carp gets ultra defensive and makes the most outrageous claims. Ah well, whatever it takes to make yourself sleep better at night... right?

TF in all fairness is a guys movie and i doubt it's something that where you could take your whole family watching ( grandparents included).

Hmmm...all three times I saw TF there were lots of families and children...and a cousin of mine took her little boy AND our grandmother to see it...and my grandmother actually enjoyed it (mostly because of Shia)....

The four times I have seen it(3 on base and one in San Diego) there were families there

Carp-man is quite a character. Anybody who says that he'd rather have Tim Story direct a FF movie over Cameron, Lucas, Spielberg or ANYBODY because Story delivers better character development than any of those other directors is....well...let's just say he's special.

Hunter Rider has LOTS of fun with him.

These numbers are sickening. I am just totally shocked that they made $20 Million estimated this past weekend. Flabbergasted. Good for them. The movie is really enjoyable, and the fact that everyone and their mother, literally, are seeing the movie multiple times is awesome. Great word of mouth too.

On the subject of box office takings, 95% of SHH posters who contribute to those discussions are constantly making outrageous claims.
