I was thinking some more about this, and I bet that the "old foe" is whatever character Dean Cain is playing.

The "old foe" could just be referring to someone that's been around a long, long time.

I am from the UK and sometimes we miss a few things..what the heck!! I am not pulling your leg. We only just started showing season 6 in the UK.

Dean Cain is playing Vandal Savage (???) or so its been rumoured, and he's a character that's lived for a very long, long time. Am I right? So I just thought that he would be the "old enemy". Old meaning, he's a very old person, not that he's an old prior enemy of Clark and Lex.

I wish that would make a great fight. The fights in SV are much fun.

To be honest every show needs a really good ending. Angel had a good ending, Buffy had a good ending, Charmed had a good ending. Smallville should deserve the same thing.
