Arrow Brandon Routh IS Ray Palmer/The Atom

i'm not really familiar with the character...but is it true that the character can only shrink? He can't grow bigger than his normal size?

Other than doing some heist jobs or taking on some microscopic sci-fi based threat, is Atom really useful in your average villainous/crime battle?

The Atom did have the ability to grow briefly but he lost that power. The Atom has 100% control over his body on the molecular level and has used that to increase his mass so that he could punch through concrete walls or become weightless to glide on breezes for example. Atom can shrinking to the size of a subatomic particle so that he can travel through conductive landline wires at the speed of electricity.

The Atom once rearrange Superman's molecules to create kryptonite.

Atom is far more powerful than he appears.

This guy was a scene stealer during the 1st episode. Can't wait to see this guy shrink in The Flash.

Whoa... what!?

[Does research]

Well, in that case, he's actually is a better fit for what the show needs than Ted Kord. I remember the producers saying Atom was even better when they couldn't use Ted, but I don't know why. Flight and Superstrength and a blue and red costume? Who does that sound like? I still think he's using Kord's business persona though.

Damn, Routh. Where was all that charm when you were playing Superman? Or any other character I've seen you play?

I don't know much about Palmer to be honest, but it seemed like they definitely wanted Ted Kord.

IDK much about the character, or how the character is "suppose to be" but the character in Arrow is definitely interesting. Thought Routh was really good

He nails the smug/smartest guy in the room schtick to perfection, but you could tell he genuinely wants to help Starling City.

Yup. For a moment I thought I was watching RDJ as Tony Stark last night - if RDJ were about a foot taller of course. ;)

Ask Bryan Singer

I hated Routh in this last night. I don't think he's a good actor and I think he was very much miscast in this part.

I'm asking Routh since it wasn't unique to Superman Returns.

I've liked him in other stuff. He cracked me up in Scott Pilgrim, and honestly, I thought he did a solid job in SR despite a meh script. And he was great last night.

Routh did surprise me. I thought he was very good.

I do hope Palmer doesn't become some mega-industrialist though. He's as much a brilliant theoretical physicist as anyone in the DCU.

Because they wanted to use Ray Palmer. Simple as that.

Routh was my favorite part of the premier. Very likeable.
He really impressed me

I always liked Routh in SR, the script just gave him so little to go on. This episode, like Scott Pilgrim, showed what he can do with the right material.

C'mon, that speech introducing 'Star City' for the first time would have won my vote in the board room!

Funny, I thought Routh was only 31 or 32. I didn't realize he was already 35.

How many episodes is Routh signed for? Whole season? Half season? Less than half?

Agreed. He was better than what I was hoping for. Not to mention Routh was the reason I bothered tuning in to this season of Arrow (and even a few eps of Chuck for that matter). I hope he get's a spin off series in the near future b/c this was a promising intro of the Ray Palmer character.

Yep. Turned 35 yesterday.

Dang, why does he look 15 years younger than Tom Welling  ?

I am assuming Palmer will be in 13 straight episode........need to rewatch the episode but did he like hack his way getting the info on the company and convincing board member he should be CEO
