Arrow Brandon Routh IS Ray Palmer/The Atom

I am assuming Palmer will be in 13 straight episode........need to rewatch the episode but did he like hack his way getting the info on the company and convincing board member he should be CEO

I really hope that the producers were joking about us not seeing Palmer suiting up in this series.

It would be a crime not to take advantage of his alter ego, especially after what someone just said about his powers.

and yeah, when it came to his presentation and how it compared against Oliver's.... you might as well have been playing "The Lonely Man" music from the original Hulk TV Series while Oliver was giving his presentation.

Oliver- I'm still alive and I see this dying company as my family (which happens to be mostly dead) and that is why I should be the new CEO.

Palmer- Oliver never made any money for this company while he was in charge and I can revolutionize both this company and city in a way that it has never dreamed of. Plus, I actually have a slide presentation that i can access from my belt.

Yeah, that's really a hard choice.lol

We will see how long Palmer will last as CEO.........I could see him give up the position to Oliver to work on his tech in the applied science division or something esle force out of the position

Oh man, the Hulk theme playing during that scene would have been funny! I do hope we see Routh shrink at some point either here or on Flash. He's a better actor than I thought.

I think the show runners said they were stepping away from super powers this season for some reason.

I guess Palmer could go across to the Flash and power up.

If that's the case, then why did they bring him I wonder?

I mean they could have easily brought in Palmer into the Flash, saying that he was a new buyer for Star Labs... with his intent on being trying to salvage Star Labs's reputation after the explosion.

Maybe he'll end up "disappearing" Dr. Manhattan style then reappear next season in the Flash once he gains control over his size change.

It could be that he does like ten episodes of Arrow and 3-4 of Flash once they see how popular he is.

Now that I've learned that the producers originally wanted Ted Kord, I can totally understand why I didn't really get an Atom vibe from how Routh was playing him.

Palmer on Arrow is definitely more Ted Kord than Ray Palmer.

Why couldn't they use Ted Kord? That would've been awesome.

I don't think it makes any sense. WB has plans for Flash and he got his own series.

That's the same thing Timm, Dini, or whoever said about Ted Kord showing up on the Justice League cartoon. There must be something complicated wiht his rights

I've never understood the issue DC seems to have with characters showing up in different places. Batman couldn't be on Smallville cuz of the movies. Two-face couldn't be on The Batman because he was gonna be in the movies. Don't they realize that showing these characters before the movies makes the hype go up? I was hyped for Venom in Spider-Man 3 because I had already seen him in the 90's TAS. Do they think people are too stupid to realize that the shows and movies might not exist in the same universe? Seems like they got over that with Flash though

Well, they didn't get over it with the Flash since they complained about Ted Kord. They just inexplicably chose not to object for the Flash.

The girls on the buzzfeed after show really don't like Ray Palmer. They were calling him a creepy stalker and laying into him for buying Felicity's company in an attempt to sleep with her. Nevermind that he has shown no romantic interest in her as of yet and mentioned having other reasons for buying her business that were unrelated to her.

Well, to be fair, it is a bit creepy. You don't stalk people when you're interested in them. The fact that they're playing it off is really insensitive to the people who have actually dealt with stalkers.

And sending her roses would qualify in most cases as romantic interest. Felicity mentioned it in last night's episode.

Probably the first picture that I've seen of the character where he resembles Routh (imho)

It's only been like three days since they met. It's not like she was recieving texts and emails every day for a week or two. The flowers were probably "sorry i took your friend's company...plz work for me," flowers. I don't believe they were roses, at least it wasn't mentioned. Routh himself said Palmer's original interest in Felicity will be purely for her skills and abilities. Felicity obviously didn't think of him as a stalker since she went to work for him willingly at the end of the episode. Buying a company is extreme but he made it pretty clear he wants her to work for him. She seemed to understand he wasn't making any romantic gestures towards her. If his actions really did make her uncomfortable in that way she would have stayed away. Don't forget she was stalked when she was a Freshman.

The hosts were going on about his villainous plans to own her at work and own her in bed. Flat out called them a villain and claimed they wouldn't consider him otherwise until he stopped acting like one. They didn't even mention the fact that he pledged to donate half his money and that he would only receive a dollars income from the project. That seems like pretty good guy stuff to me. Not saying he doesn't have ulterior motives but there has been nothing to indicate that they're villainous.

I just feel that since they are hosting an after show discussion they shouldn't judge characters in such a shallow one-sided manner. Even worst though was all they really wanted to talk about was the relationships. No real mention of Komodo as a villain at all, except to make fun of the motorcycle scene.

There are many pics where the character resembles Routh. (IMO.)

I liked Routh's portrayal as Dr. Ray Palmer, not sure where this "stalker" thing is coming from.

I hope his costume as Atom is better than this -

Regardless of whether or not his intentions toward Felicity are romantic in nature, Palmer has undergone some pretty extreme measures to remain in contact with her. Sending her flowers (how does he know her address?), texting her (how did he get her number?), buying the store she currently works for, etc.

He has bought Queen Consolidated and Felicity was a former employee of the company, so it's not that difficult to get her address and phone number, email id etc.

Yes, but the fact that he used that information to send her flowers and text messages (as opposed to sending her a letter or email or, you know, calling her to set up an interview or something) is a little creepy and definitely unprofessional. He's obviously trying to impress/flatter her, which is smart, but the way he's going about it isn't exactly normal.
