The girls on the buzzfeed after show really don't like Ray Palmer. They were calling him a creepy stalker and laying into him for buying Felicity's company in an attempt to sleep with her. Nevermind that he has shown no romantic interest in her as of yet and mentioned having other reasons for buying her business that were unrelated to her.
It's only been like three days since they met. It's not like she was recieving texts and emails every day for a week or two. The flowers were probably "sorry i took your friend's company...plz work for me," flowers. I don't believe they were roses, at least it wasn't mentioned. Routh himself said Palmer's original interest in Felicity will be purely for her skills and abilities. Felicity obviously didn't think of him as a stalker since she went to work for him willingly at the end of the episode. Buying a company is extreme but he made it pretty clear he wants her to work for him. She seemed to understand he wasn't making any romantic gestures towards her. If his actions really did make her uncomfortable in that way she would have stayed away. Don't forget she was stalked when she was a Freshman.
The hosts were going on about his villainous plans to own her at work and own her in bed. Flat out called them a villain and claimed they wouldn't consider him otherwise until he stopped acting like one. They didn't even mention the fact that he pledged to donate half his money and that he would only receive a dollars income from the project. That seems like pretty good guy stuff to me. Not saying he doesn't have ulterior motives but there has been nothing to indicate that they're villainous.
I just feel that since they are hosting an after show discussion they shouldn't judge characters in such a shallow one-sided manner. Even worst though was all they really wanted to talk about was the relationships. No real mention of Komodo as a villain at all, except to make fun of the motorcycle scene.
"Did you do it to make a point? Because I get it, loud and clear. You are rich, you are impulsive, and frankly, you are the creepiest formal stalker that I have ever had to deal with, and believe me when I tell you that that is saying a lot." "You can stop. You can stop sending me flowers. And you can stop texting me, and calling me, and sending me emails, because I spam them anyway... because I am never, ever, ever, going to work for you."
So, I don't think his intent is to sleep with her. I never did, actually, so I don't agree on that aspect with those girls. However, this IS stalker behavior. And it IS creepy, no matter how many days it's been. I don't think it's only been "a few days". Maybe it has. Seems like at least a week or more.
Especially when she says "you can stop doing xyz" and makes "emails" plural, as in he's sent her many e-mails from different accounts, which she then says she sends spam to after she receives e-mails from him. To me, it sounds like he's been doing it for a while. Regardless of his motivations, it's creepy.
He got her personal information from mining old databases (or current ones since he now owns the company she -now- works for). That's creepy. You don't just look up someone's phone number, e-mail address, or home address to send them things or call/text them, whatever. Anyone would be creeped out if that happened.
It shows that he has no sense of other people's privacy, no sense of boundaries. It's a little sociopathic, to be honest.
He has bought Queen Consolidated and Felicity was a former employee of the company, so it's not that difficult to get her address and phone number, email id etc.
He didn't buy QC. He won the job of CEO. He DID buy the holding company that owns the majority shares of the company that Felicity works at NOW, so now he owns her current work place as well. But yes, either way, he had access to those things.
That doesn't make it right for him to just take her personal information though, and use it to harass her until she gives in. It's borderline abusive.
