Transformers Brilliant voice actor Frank Welker and Peter Cullen interview

it's for the video game though.

Is that final that Frank won't do the movie?

Man, I can't imagine that raspy voice coming out of Movie Megatron. It just doesn't fit.

this ends here megatron was awsome.

Awesome! These two were born for those roles!

All respect to Welker, but I am so happy that his voice wasn't used for movie Megatron. It would sound ridiculous.

I must say Welker still got it. But I agree I just can't see his voice coming out of the mash of metal that is movie megs.

I never liked Welker's Megatron to begin with. I don't like robots sounding like 80 year olds, who aren't far away from kicking the bucket.

Try playing the last bit of the interview when Welker in Megs voice says "Die Autobot" while looking at a pic of movie megs and see what you think. I still think Welker would have been ace for the roll.

And besides, guys, aren't they supposed to also add some effects to their voices? what you hear above are their actual real voices.

And Cullen sounds badass as Prime without added effects. But Welker? Meh. Not saying he's bad, just don't like the voice used for a badass, deadly and ruthless robot like Megatron.

I also prefer Kaye by far. His Megatron sounds a bit like royalty and like an actual leader.

People burying Welker out of defense for this movie is pretty hilarious IMHO.

I liked the new VA's with Beast Wars. Even though it was in continuity, the idea was that these were a new Megatron and Optimus. Still true to the characters though.

Still I love Welker's Megatron. He just sounds like a scumbag villain you love to hate.

Can anyone explain why they are being so secretive about the rest of the voices of the transformers?

I thought his Megatron voice sounded fine...

I would like both Welker and Cullen doing Meg's and Prime, but Weaving has a great talent for voicework (V, LOTR, Matrix) and i'm not going to count him out.

Besides, Welker IS in the game, and you'll be hearing alot more of him when you think about it.

If it's him in the game, I see no excuse why he didn't do the movie.

I think if they saw fit to use Cullen again as Optimus, then they know that the VA's for the robots is important.

I like Weaving too, but casting him in a Transformers movie to play Megatron is just ridiculous to me. It's simply unnecessary, especially if you have an eager Welker who is already doing the game. Why do things like this half-way?
