Transformers Brilliant voice actor Frank Welker and Peter Cullen interview

Because it would make me very happy not to listen to a Megatron that sounds like a old guy. :o

Ugh whatever. He sounds evil to me.

I'd rather he not sound like Agent Smith.

Welker sounds just fine...perfect counterpart to Cullen.

Peter Cullen sounds like an old guy as Optimus, because he's you know, an older guy.

I have an idea, maybe Elijah Wood can be the new voice of Optimus Prime. He's a good actor you know you shouldn't count him out.

I agree Wood is a quality actor. Personally I think he would have played a good Spike, however he couldn't be Prime. His voice hasn't got enough power.

Weak. (Why does everyone always say this?)
Weaving has a way better range of voice outside of Agent Smith. V for Vendetta is a perfect example of this.

If it's him in the game, I see no excuse why he didn't do the movie.

I think if they saw fit to use Cullen again as Optimus, then they know that the VA's for the robots is important.

I like Weaving too, but casting him in a Transformers movie to play Megatron is just ridiculous to me. It's simply unnecessary, especially if you have an eager Welker who is already doing the game. Why do things like this half-way?

I do feel bad for Welker, though.
He was the original Megatron. It does seem like the right thing to let him do the movie version of the role that he was first. It's like getting dirt shoved in his face, in a way.

He sounded exactly like Smith in that movie to me.

If you said Lord of the Rings, you have a point.

A Recast is not dirt in your face... especially when they give you the consolation prize of voicing the video game.

Once again, stupid to me if he does the voice in the movie video game but not the actual movie. Makes no sense at all.

I would've been fine with David Kaye as well. Since he brought some nice qualities to the role, making him a little more regal and sophisticated.
