I don't think that Mystique is ready to be the assassin or Magneto's right hand; and while I expect her to become more hardened, I don't see the need to shoehorn her into her original trilogy persona just yet. These prequels after all are an opportunity to explore the characters before they become what we see in X1-X3.

Maybe they could use Emma Frost to work Brotherhood's way to the U.S. government or to the President. She has more experience than Mystique when it comes to playing dirty and scheming, so I think she should be the right choice to be Magneto's right hand and at the end of First Class, it looked like Magneto recruited her to be his right hand.

Since the past will likely be the 1960's I have always imagined showing Mystique In Jennifer Lawrence's natural state getting close to target of assassination plot.

Yep I agree with psylockolussus on this one. I think Mystique grows into the role later on, but Magneto needs someone with more experience now, and Frost certainly does fit the bill. If anyone will have to infiltrate the govt. it would be her.

I think the sequel should show that Erik gives Raven her very first mission.

Not neccesarily a hard one, but something politically incorrect. So that would become her first conflict and at the end she will end choosing a side. And we all know that will be.

Speaking of... if we see Rogue again i want her flying and knocking Sentinels out with one punch like the animated series.

This. At the least she better steal one of those powers.

I just hope, if it's wolverine who travels back in time then it's not gonna have another love triangle between Logan, Mystique and Magneto !!!!

Washington?

exciting. probably for some scenes on the 60's

love his x-tweets

Maybe they could do the final battle there! X3's final battle was supposed to be supposed at Washington.

The Last Stand's final battle was supposed to take place in Washington, DC. Singer could very well mean they're scouting locations in Washington state.

Never thought I'd be this excited again, but reading that tweet and seeing Singer re-tracing the steps lost when he left to do Superman Returns just really brought home to me how this all hasn't been a prank, albeit a very elaborate one. Probably shouldn't let all this speculation hype me up so much, but damn if I can help it now that the universe's at last course-corrected itself.

wait, now that you say that....

the final battle could easily be outside of White house when the brotherhood tries to kill the political. Exactly like the comics

would love to see that

Charles inside the white house trying to stop Eric or Mystique, and the x-men and brotherhood members outside creating chaos :wow:

Ahh I agree 100%. I was thinking, is this how I felt before it was announced he left to do SR? I think it's more the feeling I had when I KNEW he was making X2 and couldn't sleep in anticipation.

Lol, that would be funny if Mystique were fighting in the White House. Little does she know that years later, her son would be in there trying to assassinate the president. :woot:

I think Bryan would love to do things that can call back to his films.Like maybe Wolverine
and Rogue as team In future, and Mystique trying to kill target(calling back to Nightcrawler's
attack on White house)

The prginal comic version has X-Men VS Brotherhood In streets of DC.When Matthew Vaughn was going to direct Last Stand the climax was going to be IN DC.So maybe Simon Kinberg dusted off A few Ideas that got scrapped when Ratner took over as director

Yep, and that seems a bit weird really - that her own son was manipulated by Stryker into nearly killing the president, thus triggering the resulting actions in the rest of the film. That she had no real reaction to all that is a bit bizarre, making it hard to believe he really is her son, to be honest.

I'd love Mystique trying to kill the target in the White House like Nightcrawler did.

Yeah, but think about it from Mystique's point of view. If she were trying to forget the past and leave Kurt behind, why would she have a reaction to him being manipulated? It's not like she's always been an outright "caring mother", so she shouldn't be expected to do that.

I'd like to think she feel a certain way about it, but she kept all of that inside. I mean, think about how she avoided Kurt in X2 but he gravitated towards her. Looks like she's trying to stay disconnected to Kurt to me, but it isn't exactly easy for her.

If they wanted to have a Pacific North West (ie. Washington State) scene then I'm sure they would film that in Vancouver and have it stand in for Washington State. It's just cheaper that way. That Seattle Waterfront scene at the end of in Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol? Vancouver. The entirety of Twilights (except part 1) that was supposed to be Oregon (at least what I'm told...I would not watch that trash! :p )? Vancouver. Heck the high school in those movies is my high school! *sigh*
