Sequels Bryan Singer would love to return to X-Men universe

They already ruined their adaption of the greatest comics story of all time, killed the X-Men's leader and pushed the most overrated and harmful character in the history comics to an even more disgusting degree. Singer was part of these crimes, then he made a poor Superman movie.

Although there will be more, I personally want the X-Men movieverse gone and 100% rebooted with respect shown to the comics and more than the one character featured.

Not going to happen, I know.

I think all the things that they are planning (Deadpool, First Class, Magneto) could be good its just a matter of getting the director that has the right vision.
Singer had his chance with the vision and I think he did a good job, but hes done. He went to go to SR. bad film aside he left the franchise and should work on doing something else.

WHere would he even fit? Making X4? :whatever: How can you ignore all that went wrong with X3

Would love to see Singer back for First Class or Magneto. Honestly, if Marvel owned X-men, then I would’ve been confident about another director, but after Wolverine’s movie, I think Singer is actually the only director who could make a good quality X-men movie under Fox.

Haven't you all readen a bad number of a comic series?

it doesn't mean all the next numbers are bad.... :cwink:

a franchise can have a bad sequel, its absolutly normal.

Why does everyone want a Magneto movie so bad, i think that is the most bland unoriginal idea out there and just screams horrible idea.

He really screwed up X-Men, then he got screwed. I'm pissed at him, but let's face it, he did direct his films very, very well.

i completely agree with you! i say boo on Magneto. i dont care! Magneto got the second most development out of the series! i say do First Class and roll back into XMen 4.

someone mentioned putting Singer as director for First Class and seeing how he does working witout Wolverine. i think thts a brilliant move. if he does well enough then i say put him back in for X4.

It was not Bryan Singers fault but it is the fault of Tom Rothman and his cronies at Fox.

Here's what happened according to Wikipedia:

In mid-2004, Singer was in negotiations to direct X-Men: The Last Stand for Fox. Fox and Singer could not meet an agreement and, after an extended détente, Singer was offered the chance to direct the new Superman film, which was ready to go. On July 19, 2004, Variety reported that Singer had signed on to direct Superman Returns for Warner Bros. In retaliation, Fox terminated their production deal with Bad Hat Harry Productions, Singer's production company.[8]

I have to agree with some people posting that “Singer crawling back with his tail between his legs”. He pretty much has become a failure outside of the X-Films. Even his much laboured “Valkyrie” received only a lukewarm response from the critics (although I loved the film) and the box office wasn’t too profitable although it made its budget back with a few million to spare. He knows his best cinematic achievements were the X-Films and his neo-noir films like Apt Pupil and The Usual Suspects. The reason is that Bryan can be as dark has he wants to be with those particular films. And that’s what Bryan has always excelled at. Characters that lived in the shadows and in tragedy. This is why the X-Films has always been a perfect match for him.

Now in response to FOX’s treatment of Bryan is actually rather unfair. I know from many reliable insider contacts that Rothman&Co. bent over backwards to please not only Bryan but the Bad Hat Harry Production Team. Gave them their own private section of the lot (old Zak Penn building) and ample budget for the next film along with creative control. They were so pleased with how X2 went that they loosened all straps for the next installment but secretly Bryan was already making deals with the WB on the side. Starting with Logan’s run then along came Superman and it’s Super-budget where everyone got paid ridiculous amounts of money. Bryan bailed on the X-Franchise and unfairly left FOX holding the bag which was a shame because the studio which was known for micro-managing was giving him his own sandbox. I love Bryan Singer a lot and I hope he comes back to the franchise but let’s place blame where it belongs.

I personally feel he’s the only one that is capable to saving this franchise and bringing dignity back to these characters. And as already mentioned, he’s the only one that could persuade Romijn, Paquin and Janssen to return to this franchise.

i def agree with that. there is NO way that those actresses would come back without him.

........nah, that's okay.

X3 was terrible, Wolverine bashing is just "cool" for now. :)

No, Wolverine is just as terrible as X3. Still unsure which is worse.

Some are, some aren't. Happy I'm not a sheep though.

That tends to happen when people only listen to theirself.:whatever:

Bringing him back could be a good idea, if they can't find someone better.

At this point, I just don't know.

Can both of you cut it out, you're both wrong. Wolverine did suck but X3 was worse. One is a 6 the other is a 4. Argument over.

Well of course there are better directors for the X-Franchise, it would just be better if it was from a different production company.

Okay Mr. Singer ruined this franchise for me, he owes me. :whatever:

I try to play peacekeeper and now you're starting a fight with me? That's pretty messed up. And I never said he owed me anything.

I wouldn't want him to direct First Class. From what little I've heard, it sounds like they're going for a tone that doesn't match what Singer would bring. Donner said she wants to highlight the humour and lightheartedness of the first students, and I don't think Singer would want to do a movie like that. He's better suited doing a more serious X-men movie, so Magneto would definitely be a better fit.

Ideally, I'd want him to direct a sequel to the X-films. But that's just never going to happen, and I wouldn't want a sequel without Xavier, Cyclops, Jean, and Rogue and Magneto with powers anyway.
