Infinity War Bucky Barnes- The Winter Soldier

Wouldn't the bullets then bounce off of the target if they were vibramium?

If you’re shooting at enemies made from vibranium it’s time to give up and get the hell out of there.

I think Bucky should be a major character in BP2. Since he was already given the name White Wolf, why not take the whole mantle? The Russo brothers couldnt have given him that persona just cause he's a changed man. I think they'll actually give him a WW storyline. I totally support that. I really really love Bucky and I would love to see him fight alongside the Wakandans, especially T'challa. Giving him a romantic connection though is meh. I want to see a badass Bucky. As brutal as the Winter Soldier but as noble as the White Wolf.

Maybe a supporting role relevant to the plot. I just doubt he'd be given a huge part in it.

Yeah not overpowering T'challa but like a semi major character if that's a thing? lol

He could have a similar supporting role that Natasha had in The Winter Soldier. But, I hate to say this, but I watched Black Panther last night, and I found his character to be the least interesting one in the movie. M'Baku, Kilmonger, Ross and the main women ran circles around him.

That was more of a cameo than an actual role tbh.

That sounds pretty good, but she had a big role in TWS. I just wonder how some might react. "BP did 1.3 billion worldwide on his own; but now MARVEL sticking a white boy to help make it more palatable for white audiences"

I have a question about Bucky's personality in CA:CW.

In Winter Soldier we see he's obviously deep into being brainwashed. He just about kills Steve, and only at the very end do we see him finally faced with the undeniable truth of who he was before he was the Winter Soldier.

Knowing that, I went into CW fully expecting the messed-up Bucky we got in the comics when he finally remembered everything he'd done. He was so distraught that he told Steve "You should have killed me."

Instead, what we got in CW was...pretty much nothing. Bucky's a little vague, but mostly OK, kinda down on himself, but by the end of the movie he seems fine with having killed dozens of people in cold blood. He's a little bummed about it, sure, but he's really well-adjusted for a former brainwashed assassin. He only goes back into storage because he's afraid of being triggered again, but even that is accepted with a bland "meh" attitude. Whatever, I guess.

So...does anyone else think Bucky should have been a little more, I don't know, shocked and horrified at remembering that he was a murderer? That he committed horrific crimes in the name of Hydra for 70 years? Stan seems to be a competent actor so I can't tell if it's the direction, or what, but it just seems to me that something's missing there. Any thoughts?

They had to shortchange him to make room for Iron Man, Spidey and BP

I was fine with how he was portrayed in CW. If it had taken place *immediately* following TWS, then yeah... there should've been more shock/horror at the memories resurfacing from him. But 2 years have passed between the events of TWS and CW (and yes, I know that for some people, trauma takes years to work through... but everyone is different). I was fine with him being someone who, a few years later, is just trying to keep his head down, be off the grid, writing in his journals the fragments of memory coming to him and sorting through them (that's what was in the backpack, btw)......and wanting to enjoy his plums :oldrazz: He's not completely okay (Sebastian has said that his belief is it's Bucky's relationship with Steve that's the only thing keeping Bucky from committing suicide after the events of TWS), and he is paranoid (the layout of his apartment, the fact he has multiple escape routes, all the journals ready to go at a moments notice in a go bag), but he's working through things in his way.

By the end of the movie, I don't really see him as "fine with having killed dozens of people in cold blood." Not with his telling Steve that he doesn't think he's worth all this and his response of "But I did it." when Steve tries to remind him that what Hydra made him do, it wasn't him. The look on his face as Tony's watching the footage of Howard & Maria's murder... Tony's just getting the CCTV grainy footage. When we're seeing the sharp close-up 'we're there' imagery complete with sound... That's him remembering doing what we're seeing. When Tony snarks at him if he even remembers them and his response of "I remember all of them?" Sebastian has said he believes Bucky was lying at that moment... but even if he doesn't remember *all* of them (yet), I think he does remember a good chunk of them.

I also don't see his attitude at going back into Cryo as a 'meh' attitude. Personally, if I see his attitude as anything in that final scene before Cryo, I see it as an "I'm tired/exhausted of this... of being what they made me... of being used as a weapon" mentality - of not wanting to be made to hurt innocent people anymore. There's a glimmer of hope there too because, thanks to T'Challa, he finally has a chance to truly be able to heal without the thought of the trigger words hanging over his head (something he noted to Steve earlier after Zemo triggered him, he'd been afraid of - that all the conditioning and compliance was still there just waiting to be activated).

Just my opinion though (and apologies if I didn't make sense.... I've got mid-week brain :oldrazz:)

Forgiving oneself for the actions done under Soviet and Hydra brainwashing should be easier than if he remained Sergeant Barnes and volunteered to be a government assassin of non combatants

Or maybe most people wont see race like you and just see it as another character connecting the universe like Nick Fury was used in IronMan and The Winter Soldier.

You mean tchalla right?
I just think they have to make him have a bit of a sense of humor and make him more.like the priest bp and less like the ta nehisi bp which is who i feel theyre taking more from here. He needs to be regal and have a quiet strength about him ( which he does have) but he also needs to have more of a personality be a bit.more ruthless but also charming which he is in the comics in here he is a bit stiff and too stoic at times almost like a statue. Its about achieving that balance between stoic and regal and relaxed charismatic and humorous in a sarcastic way . Kind off like craigs bond I would say

Yeah, if Black Widow who was fully aware of what she was doing can get a pass with lack of compassion, then I see no reason why Bucky can't.

Funny enough, after TWS, I am surprised that they didn't make a story of someone coming after Natasha with all that is coming out, and with the knowledge that she won't spend time behind bars because she simply decided to switch sides.

I certainly found tchalla a better character in cw than in BP.

I think buckys been really under utilised and poorly constructed since ws. He doesn't seem half as powerful anymore.

Yes, I did mean T'Challa, but only in the BP movie did I find him dull. In Civil War and Infinity War, I adored him. I don't know what it is, but he lacked something in BP that was there under the Russo brother's direction. And he doesn't have to be a wise guy. Kilmonger was a very serious character, but he still had way more presence and charisma than T'Challa had.

But, he's still a great character with the right direction and writing. Coogler nailed the atmosphere of Wakanda, and breathed fresh life into the Marvel franchise with the likes of Shuri and M'Baku. He just needs to try and capture what the Russo's are doing, and then I think we will have the perfect BP.

From my observation, CW T'challa was stern and out for a kill. he was focused on revenge. he wants things to get done quickly without rationalizing things first. Then we see at the end of CW, he regretted his actions cause he almost killed an innocent man. BP T'challa was softer, calmer, wiser, and more composed. I guess this is because he wanted to avoid doing to others what he almost did to Bucky and he has already accepted the death of his father. (he just needed a bit more guidance hehe) Now him being a king, he needs to lead his people in a noble manner. He's thinking things through now and not being selfish anymore. but i dunno, these are just my observations.

He was undersized in his own film to make room for eventual fan favs.

I'm sure in BP2 he;s gonna be a real winner

And this is why I love T'Challa and not Tony Stark. Tony Stark was willing to kill an innocent man, inprison people he called friends and heroes, allow the Avengers to be dictated to by a power hungry government (the same government that made him a billionaire) and then to tear up the Avengers and make Steve and Natasha into criminals because he let his jealousy, hate and ego consume him. I have no problems with letting Tony Stark fade away and allow T'Challa to be the new financial backer and technology innovator of the MCU.

I guess he could've handled the Accords in a different light. But then again, Tony couldn't bear the guilt of being the cause of collateral damage. he knew it could be avoided. Too many people died by their hands. so i cant really blame him for signing the Accords.

But that scene when Tony found out Bucky murdered his parents was great! Everyone in the theater fell dead silent. You could hear a pin drop. Then a few faint gasps and *oh ***** were heard though. :D

* I was team Cap btw *

But, at the same time, Black Panther didn't make 1.3 billion on his own. He still had two white guys in there, both actors have a following after their appearances in LOTR films, and there was also a major action scene in South Korea, and the Asians love to go to movies that feature their culture and homes (its why some of the Transformer films are so huge in those markets.)

I just want to see a romance blossom between him and Shuri.:woot:
Oh please no. I love Shuri and all, but she's 16. I'd much prefer them to have a good friendship. No romance needed between those two.
