Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Vampire - Part 2

I think we should have seen more vampire big bads, after the first half of season 3, all of them have been demons, or gods, or humans.

Wasn't it going to be a different take with possibly a changed story? I'm not so sure it was going to be canon. Either way i would have loved to see it, the Sabrina animated series that spawned from the tv show was very good from what i remember

Well it was basically going to be telling it with the differences that Dawn made when she was inserted into their lives.

The next best thing became Darla in Angel, and the return of Dru. Then all the Angelus stuff later.. But since Angel had few big bads they were never really it.

Its hard to top the Master or Angelus plus Buffy got stronger and vamps became nothing much but puddies

I was fine with not having that many Vamp big bads, it's hard to top after the first 2 seasons. Though I would have LOVED to see Darla come back for a 3 episode arc and have her play mind games with the Buffster.

Though it was to bad that the Turok-han didn't stick around a couple of episodes longer. Great design, pitty they didn't have the budget to make keep them as great as they first appeared when it came to the finale.

I'm sure they could have come up with something, the Master and that guy who killed Faith's watcher can't have been the oldest and most powerful vampires around. There was also that hellmouth in another city.

Why? I believe it was stated that The Master was the oldest Vampire in existence, his and taquitos features didn't morph for no reason. Plus if there were older vamps out there, either they were content with where they were or had no interest in meeting the slayer after her dusting The Master.

They could have made Dracula season long if they wanted him to be serious. But we get 2 seasons with Vamp baddies, 1 season with a Vamp lackey, and 1 season with basically the original vamps. So 3 seasons with no major focus on vamps isn't bad.

And Hellmouths just attract supernaturals to it, so it could be a whole nother ball game in Cleveland.

Dark Willow made for a much more interesting villian than those stupid nerds did.

I think Buffy was best when it played up the comedy aspect of the show. The Nerds definitely helped in that regard

It's more that we didn't even see the full potencial of the likes of the Master, he was just unlucky due to plot needing to have Buffy winning, so there was a window and wood there to dust him. Even Angel was afraid of him, the guy who would become the main villain in the following season

Jonathan was the worse. I hated his character. I forgot he was even killed off but that happened way too late in the series as he shouldnt have been utilized as much as he was. Really, he's one of my least favorite in the entire Buffyverse.

If i had to rank Big Bads from Favorite to Least, it would go like this for me

Glory
Mayor
First Evil
Dark Willow
Angelus
Master
Adam

I dont even consider the Trio to be Big Bads, but if they were ranked, they'd be at the bottom

Oh and this may be an unpopular opinion but I hated Tara and wasnt upset when they killed her off. She also lasted too long as I didnt think she'd be around past a few episodes of season 5

I would in the very least classify Andrew as one, more so than Dark Willow since he was the catalyst of the events in season 6, DW was just his final mess.

yeah The Master was unlucky as being the first villain and only having 12 episodes to build him up. Joss would probably have treated things differently when it came to him if he could. But at least he was a great villain to start off with.

Well, yes. But at the same time he's also a villain that is frequently forgotten by fans from what i see.

How was the Master any different then Adam in terms of being 1 dimensional? I think it was Lord who said Adam seemed like the 14 year old comic book geek from the 90s dream character, the Master wasn't that much better in that regard

I'm sorry if i find this

Infinitelly better than this

The first one is clearly inspired by Nosferatu and looks creepy, the second one is just a mess

Both of them look cartoony, if Adam was a 90s comic book character, the Master was a campy 80s horror movie villain

Is Adam even the main villain of Season 4, I thought it was the Initiative more then Adam

Another character who got short changed was Kendra. I only saw her in reruns and was shocked to see that after her intro arc, when she finally returns, she is killed off. I really wish they had done more with her

I'd rank the Big Bads:

The Mayor
Glory
Angelus
The First Evil
Dark Willow
The Master
Adam

I actually enjoyed the Trio some of the time, but I don't count them as a Big Bad. They seemed to be there as a distraction for Buffy and a catalyst for DW. That said, the writers did a great job of making me truly hate Warren.

YES! If Buffy was made today, I would expect some webisodes of Kendras time of being the Slayer. So many fun stories left to tell with her.

Master looks more like an actual monster, sure he was a moustache twirling villain, but he was decent and his design was simple enough. Adam is basically a 90s wet dream. he doesn't age near as well.

The Master wasn't perfect, but he was on the very least decent, and i don't see any reason to complain about his design, but Adam? Dude, he looks like a mess :o

Some characters that were forgotten is Xander's best buddy, you know, the one from the first 2 episodes that grew up with him and Willow but has never been mentioned again in name. Would have also liked to see Pike, the guy from the Buffy origins stories (the screenplay, the script and the origin comic).

It's a shame Cordelia never met the scoobies again, could have been interesting to see her interactions with Willow now, considering how much she had changed.

As I said above I viewed the Initiative more as the "bad guy" of Season 4 then Adam, Adam just was a minion of the Iniative. I guess I just am a fan of Secret Government Agencies are evil type storylines

I thought the show in Season 4 did a good season long plot tieing Buffy and her new BF(and since I wasn't a fan of Angel/Buffy I viewed that as an improvement) to the bigger Initiative thing. I never really viewed Adam as anything more then a couple episode character that was the product of the Initiative

Well he was vamped and staked by the end of those appearances, it's not like they could have done anything with him anyway.

The Master still looks great imo, esp considering the budget. There isn't much to do to improve him.

And considering Adam was Frankensteined from multiple monsters, he looks goood.

Even though Jesse was vamped and staked by ep2, Xander&Willow moved on rather quick and it was a shame the writers didn't get the actor back for S7 for The First to impersonate.

Seeing Pike show up would have been nice as well, having him run into Buffy while she was Anne would've been good. Though I think whats his name from S2 was suppose to be a poor mans Pike.

They could still have mentioned the guy more, in fact, every time we know something about Xander and Willow's background, they're the only constant, even Cordelia is mentioned in their past more.

I also have to wonder what the Government is doing, i'm sure they could do more than what seemed to happen in Season 4 or them joining Twilight in Season 8

Cordelia saw Willlow twice in ANGEL(albeit one of those times she was controlled by Jasmine)

We know that they operate world wide..wasnt Riley in the rain forest or somewhere? They probably don't know as much about the supernatural as Slayers/Watchers do though.

Strange that the Watchers didn't work with the Government, they would definitelly welcome that kind of help, and something like the "government" should have that kind of resources.
