Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Vampire - Part 2

I loved the Jasmine story because of how different and eerie it was, like a Twilight Zone story. Also it was built up from that trial Angel did in S2. It was kind of his ultimate nemesis besides W&H.

I loved the Jasmine part, particularly the opportunity it gave Fred to shine.

What are the odds we will ever see more live action Buffyverse stuff? I think its Joss's magnum opus, it would be perfect for a "Next Generation" type show after he's done doing Marvel films. Or they could finally do the Ripper show. It would make it a well rounded 'trilogy' of shows.

Why haven't the fans made a kickstarter? It should happen before someone reboots Buffy. It would make more sense to do another spinoff or movie. Special guest star power is always a plus, fans will not stand for a reboot either.

I don't see anything coming. Everyone and their mama wants to make excuses not to make it.

And what is the use of making a kickstarter if no one important is involved?

I think that the best would be for a Fray tv show, is the perfect way to continue without having to worry about Angel or Spike aging. And it explores something different from either the Angel or the Buffy shows, allowing Joss to be even more creative this time, since he will be able to go into more science fiction territory.

The other option is to have Angel and Spike either die, or turn human in the comics, since the comics take place around 2006, it would allow for the actors to portray their characters in a present show. If another show was made in the present, then my vote would go for Faith.

So that's it, i would like to see a 3rd Buffyverse live action show, and i think it should either be Fray or Faith.

Well involving some established characters would probably be a necessity. Fray could be great too. And involve Spike and possibly Illyria and/or time travel. If they did a spinoff, I'm sure Marsters or Acker would do a guest appearance or two or something.

It sounds like a fantasy but its not impossible! The universe is so rich and has such a devoted fanbase.

Fray would be perfect. Maybe add Spike as her Watcher type.

I can't remember if it was this or Firefly but in all likelyhood it applies here too. Whedon doesn't own the film/television rights to the Buffyverse. Those would have to be bought back or licensed to Whedon to do a movie.

That's so ridiculous. I hate how that **** works. I guess he could after the success of the Avengers but if it's such an obstacle would he even want to? I doubt he'd want the legacy of Buffy tarnished by a re-reboot. And you know it would happen eventually :/

It makes so much sense to do Fray. Keep Spike a vampire and make it clear he's the only vampire with a soul. Have him train her, alluding back to Restless and Fool for Love. Leaving it up to our imaginations whether Angel shanshued or was dusted.

If he wanted to, I doubt FOX would be completely against it. He would just have to produce it through FOX which the two have a very good relationship.

Would love it if Angel didn't appear in Fray and there was an allusion that he had fulfilled the Shanshu prophecy. About Spike, it's tricky to bring him back in live action because of the actor aging, unless they explain it through Vampires aging a bit, but more slowlly as they become less human, like The Master and that vampire that killed Faith's watcher.

Yeah its the future , so he should be allowed to age a little. Angel sure looked a lot different back in the early Buffy days.

They could change Spikes appearance to mesh with that. Add tips to his ears, change his hair etc .

I would like 2 see one last live action thingy. Certainly the best ending for Angel is him full fulling the Shanshu prophecy & matching his current age as stated above

Yeah i like the idea, do you think a Fray tv show should retell the origin or be a direct continuation from the comics like the original tv show was a continuation to Joss's script?

I think the Shanshu would be better left open ended the show left it. If they do Fray, they could make it so Angel is dead either by Shanshu or dust. That way it wouldn't take too much away from Not Fade Away.

Well, not Fade Away was almost the end of a two-parter, many didn't like it that much in fact. Though i don't mind the idea, the good thing with Fray is that Joss would also be able to go on with his Buffyverse comics if he wanted to, maybe even tying some plot points, it's a win-win situation, pretty much like when Fray ended up tying with Buffy's last season.

Though the way the world ended up as in Fray can be a little depressing. If it is done, whould the tv show be a continuation of the comic like Buffy was a continuation to Joss's original movie script, or should the comic become non-canon with the tv show retelling the story?

Maybe the comic can be adapted into the first season? I haven't actually read all of it. Since you mentioned it, I want to pick up the trade paperback. I like the whole idea of continuing the Slayer story. Along with Angel possibly Shanshued, having a missing 100-200 years between Chosen and a new cycle of singular Slayers is brilliant. That way, BtVS and AtS get to keep their proper endings without them being screwed up.

They could even do that crossover from Buffy. Or some kind of time travel crossover. Illyria 200 years later gets her time travel powers and mucks **** up. Sigh if only.

They should probably adapt a lot of it but maybe add a few things here and there. It would be a good idea to include some actor from Buffy or Angel to start it off. Is there a way to start a petition or to just...send a message to Joss? Tell him it's not just Firefly fans out here on the internet, we want him to go back to his roots!

There is an oficial Whedonverse website if i'm not mistaken. I think the best for Fray would be to continue from the comics, Fray probably gets her gang and the villain is mostly her brother. I really hope that the fact he didn't make more Fray comics is because he wants to do a show out of it.

Illyria could be interesting to see on the show, an older Spike who's starting to look more like the Master could be an interesting addition to the cast too. So much potencial, only thing i really ask is for each season to be an entire story and to have its oun big bad like Buffy did.

Rather than a series long Angel type thing? Angel S2-4 was like one giant uber season, with the big bad finally revealed in S4. I guess I'd like to see the seasonal big bad stuff but with an over-arcing story too. We're talking as if it's gonna happen :/

I really do think Joss should do something more with his Buffyverse. Because I read something about FOX wanting to do a reboot. A reboot. Could Buffy really be a successful story without Willow, Xander, Giles, Spike, Angel etc? They only have the rights to Buffy. It would be so dreadful.

The original movie wasn't bad so I don't see why a new series with different characters can't work.

I dunno, I thought the movie was pretty bad. Also, a reboot wouldn't have anything to do with Joss Whedon. I want another Joss Buffyverse series. Not just more Buffy. In fact, I'm done with Buffy as a character more or less. I want the world expanded is all, under Whedon and friends' writing style. And it seems stupid to reboot when they could easily...just do another spin-off or something. Buffy became a phenomenon because of the show and the characters and those actors. And it spun-off. James Marsters as Spike became like the new Leonard Nimoy as Spock. And yeah they rebooted Star Trek but not after 5 TV series (total of 28 seasons) and 10 movies. Joss's Buffyverse deserves some more love rather than flashy reboot garbage. Next Generation rather than JJ reboot style.

Fray could be considered a reboot of sorts but keeping with continuity so they could if they wanted, do a few crossovers with fan favorite characters.

It was announced some 4 years ago, i remember the buffyforums going to hell that day, now, i'm doubtful it will ever happen.

Back to Fray, i like the idea of big bads for each season with an over-arching story, as long as we don't have every season ending in a cliffhanger. We've seen all kinds of big bads, one type i would like to see is a villain group, not something like Wolfram & Hart or Twilight, but an actual group of 4 to 7 strong human or demons, each one with their oun abilities and goals. I'm thinking of maybe a future mercenary group or band of thieves.

Somebody new might have fresh ideas for the character. It wasn't like the original series didn't have it's share of crappy ideas. In general most series I see Josh do he has some cringeworthy ideas. The only series that might not be the case is Firefly but that series only last 13 episodes and didn't have a chance to have stupid Josh Whedon ideas.

Yeah, Joss is a mixed bag, even if his ego is that of one who only brings perfect ideas. As much as i want more buffyverse like Fray, i'm not sure he wouldn't disapoint in any way, from the comics i see he has lost much motivation and doesn't care all that much for the Buffyverse now.

Honestly if you call him Josh and think they haven't done everything with the character they could pretty much do then all I can say is...ok. SMG was the character and played a 7 year arc that is pretty much un-toppable.

Band of thieves makes sense. Maybe inter-dimensional thieves.
