Fantasy Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Vampire - Part 3

a season a day

first time through, should i watch all of buffy, then go onto angel, or try to watch them simultaneously?
Watch them together once you get to Buffy S4/Angel S1. Lots of little crossovers in those early seasons.

watching episode 11 from Season 2 "Ted" now. John Ritter :(

but man, he's crazy

and now i'm watching the one about the eggs. i knew i wasn't going to like this one from the get-go lol

^2 of my least favorite episodes back-to-back, lol. At least it's about to get very interesting.

BTW CC, when you get to Buffy S4/Angel S1, if you'd prefer not to have to alternate shows constantly, here's a list/order of the ones that crossover in those seasons so you can watch 'em in batches if you want:

Buffy 4x03 "Harsh Light of Day" --> Angel 1x03 "In the Dark"

Angel 1x07 "The Bachelor Party" --> Buffy 4x08 "Pangs" --> Angel 1x08 "I Will Remember You"

Buffy 4x16 "Who Are You?" (you can go ahead and watch the next 3 Buffy eps after this, as the crossover here is not meant to be immediate) --> Angel 1x18 "Five by Five" --> Angel 1x19 "Sanctuary" --> Buffy 4x20 "The Yoko Factor"

If you prefer to do it that way, I'll do this for the later seasons when you get closer to them as well.

i haven't decided which way i want to go with it yet lol

i just started the next one so i'm going to try and get this episode in before i go to bed

ok just finished episode 14. that was a good one. Angelus man, i bet Boreanaz had a lot of fun when he got to play him.

The guy playing the judge, it's the same guy as one of the Master's cronies from Season 1 right? I am pretty sure the voice is exactly the same. The Master, The Judge, etc etc

will we learn how close Dru and Angel actually are? as in, why she could physically feel the shift in him, or is that just chalked up to her weird supernatural gifts?
i like that Xander remembers what he learned when he was the soldier on Halloween and how that was brought back up. i'm not exactly sure how that night gave him the memory of the exact layout plans for the base but whatevs lol

side note: i just started the next ep and Oz is looking at the trophy case and mentions one looks like the eyes follow him. that was a nice touch back to an old storyline. not sure if that comes back up yet but we'll see haha

also, i like how Giles backed Buffy when she wanted Jenny to leave, and I really liked the moment they had in the car when he brought her home.

I think they've re-used a few actors who played demons/vampires, etc.

It's partially because of her psychic gifts, but partially because, as I think they already discussed, he's her sire, so they have a special connection.

LOL yes I love when they make little nods like that.

Giles was a gem in that episode.

You will learn about Dru's backstory in relation to Angel very soon.

Also this is not the last time you'll see that actor he'll appear three more times as two new characters.

i thought it might be due to the sire thing, but i was thinking (hoping?) it would be more than that

at least Oz finally got interesting lol

oh.my.lanta.

first off Angel killed Jenny and I was like
and then what he put Giles through was bru-tal. BRUTAL!

but man, is this where the trope of vampires being good artists started? lol

i hate Angelus in the best way possible, but i love the way he picks at Spike

also, after Giles goes after Angel and Buffy jumps into the fight, there's a totally awkward front kick she does that hits nothing but they react like it does. it made me laugh

the three episodes tonight that i watched were way better than the last batch. this is the most fluid? the show has felt for me so far. i didn't mind the freak of the week eps every now and then, but so many in a row were not fun

Part of it, yes. It's further explored later on Angel, too.

It also gives younger Drusilla's perspective on her powers which is nice.

Also CC I think you are coming to the point in the show where most go from casual fan to "hooked!" :oldrazz:

Although she's about to hit a bit of a lull again. Two of the next filler eps are better than ones she just trudged past before tonight, but one of them is The Worst. But then you've got the 2-part finale which is A+++, so that makes up for it. And then S3. Oh, S3. :D

I would love to see Buffy again without knowing what happened.
For me my favorite series of all time.

Wouldn't that be awesome. It's funny because when i was little i started watching the show because i liked the movie but then over time the show made me realize how bad the movie actually was

I recognize the Series while Season 6 because a certain song was in the Charts :yay:
Then I bought one by one Season and it was so awesome.. So well written intersting characters, humour, Drama, developements.. I think that Show has a huge Impact too.

I lose some tears at
the Body (5.16)

That episode shocked the hell out of me. I think that was the first time a TV show dumbfounded me like that, especially at that age.

Whatever happened to that rewatch ComicChick? We're reliving the glory of 1st time watch through you!

I was listening to Buffering and they brought up a what if Buffy got a true reboot? Do you think that Xander would still be needed?
