The Good;
Love the fact that when the argument starts Tara and Anya head to the bathroom, they have a few scenes like this together through the series, the newcomers to the Scooby gang bonding. Miss Kitty is the cutest ever. Lovely to see Angel and Buffy make up.
The Bad;
Spike can't even hold a fake gun without getting pain, so how come he's able to get his shotgun out in season 5?
Best line;
Buffy; "Xander? Oh he's the deadest man in deadonia!"
Women good/men bad;
Buffy refer to Riley and Angel suffering from 'testosterone poisoning'.
Jeez!;
Poor Forrest gets skewered.
Kinky dinky;
Anya declares Xander a 'Viking in the sack'. As she is from medieval Sweden that's quite a compliment and once again suggests she enjoys rough/exotic sex (as we'll see later with Spike). Xander used to work at a telephone sex line.

Xander used to work at a telephone sex line. You know I've never seen one advertised for straight women, was this a gay sex line? Willow refers to Tara as her girlfriend for the first time. Spike twigs Will/Tara long before Xander/Giles do. Wicca is once more used as a term for lesbianism. Buffy asks Forrest if the Initiative is a 'boys club'. Spike seems to have a high opinion of Buffy. Willow talks of doing 'drama' which foreshadows Restless. Willow refers to the umbilical chord between Xander and Anya, jealousy rising.

Questions and observations;
Lovely to see Angel back, lovely to see his reconcilliation with Buffy. Sorry Spuffers BuffyandAngel4ever. Angel can defeat Riley in single combat, even with all Riley's hi-tech gear. Xander's famous big mouth makes another appearance. In later seasons this role will be taken over by Dawn. Adam likes 'Helter Skelter' which is the Beatles song Charles Manson cited for the motivation for his infamous massacre. Riley refers to Angel as 'Mr Billowy-Coat King of Pain' and thinks girls like that. More than Gary Cooper in camoflauge actually. Spike is 100% right of course, what makes Buffy different and more successful than all the other Slayers is that she has her friends and family around her.

I just watched Awakening and holy **** was that an Amazing episode! I was totally not expecting Angelus to come back and then what the ****! What a twist and Boreanaz is really at his best being Angelus, they really are two COMPLETELY different characters and you really don't feel like your watching him play a different version of his character but rather a whole new character. I'm suprised he never got any accolades for this role.

This whole Connor and Cordelia thing is one of the most ******ed subplots I have ever watched, my God what made Joss and Co think this was a good idea in anyway. Then again we are talking about the guy who made Buffy date/**** for fun with Spike. I honestly do not get how he saw this as logical. Maybe it is good from a Drama standpoint but it is also disgusting and basically incest, in any case Angelus is back and that is awesome. At this point I will not be sad to see Cordelia go at the end of the season seeing as she literally does nothing for the show now and has become a shadow of her formally hilarious and fun character. I look forward to her exit and Spikes entrance.

they had to add the cordy thing last minute cause chirsma got pregnent. It is regared by most, even the writer, as probebly the low point of the show. But there is alot of other things that season that makes it good. probebly my least fav season but still pretty cool esp. Faith's return.

just watched the eps with Hoult, and Darla's pregnancy and I'd forgotten how good those moments were.

The part where Darla "gives birth" is done really well as were the parts where the baby's soul was giving her a soul for what was probably the first real time of her life and how upset she was that she wouldn't remember loving the child, that she'd never really loved anything. good stuff

Season 3 to me gets overlooked sometimes. Its in battle with #2 for my 2nd favorite season, but thats the season where Wesley really starts to shine and I was shocked in the episode that had his betrayal in it. Thats gotta be one of my top 5 angel episodes.

watching these early eps just kinda makes me mad. i remember having a bad opinion of cordelia towards the end of the show when it was originally on tv. now i'm watching the show again from ep one to almost done with season 3 now and i am remembering how awesome she was and am dreading the turn where they ruin her

yeah I went through the same thing about her turn in season 4 . When season 5 came, I thought, "wow this show works well with out her," and my opinion of her went down. But when I watch the whole series again, I relized how much I missed the old Cordy and how much she has grown since Buffy.

Yeah I just finished four and started five and man am I happy Cordy is gone. I am curious though, does Angel go back to spiking his hair in Season 5 soon? Because two episodes in and it looks so dumb.

I dont think so. David wasnt in his best anything (besides acting) during S5. But atleast we gained Harmony is Cordelias absence.

I always wonder how S5 wouldve turned out if everything they had planned for it worked out since so much seemed like they had to take2 of so many plans.

Well Whedon has stated that it was always unclear if the show would go another season so he wrote all seasons finale like series finales. I know he was planning kinda a mad max world for season 6 and I thin ki I remember him saying somewhere that if the show hadnt ended he would not have killed off Wes in the finale
