There was no VW Alternator/Binal Tech there was plans for one, but VW said NO. The one you are thinking of was the US Honda S2000 Alt Windcharger, but the Japanese release had the Gun.When they did the alternator version of a VW Transformer, it came with 2 sheilds an no gun. VW only gave the rights if it had no weapon.
That applied to Alternators only though*. It's a big leap from that to multimillion dollar blockbuster.Wow proof that Bay is a ******...
It's not like VW would allow the licensing of their brand anyway, not because of the stupid reason in that post that was the first I heard that VW didn't want to deal with Bay... which is BS on a different level... It's known through out the fandom that VW has a strict policy against thing war related. Porsche has the same type of policy as well.
Actually that is their policy period VW doesn't want to associate with anything that is war related. That applied to Alternators only though*. It's a big leap from that to multimillion dollar blockbuster.
*As far as the official line goes anyway.

Germany's history is actually the reason they have the policy... Porsche tooThat's ironic considering that Volkswagen's were originally spawned from an idea of Adolf Hitler's. Of course, it wasn't for anything war-related, but it's still funny.

I don't really think that Germany's part in the death of over 50,000,000 is a little thing So I can see why they don't want to have a part with any thing war related.ugh... VW overeacts for the stupidest thing
If that was where it ended VW would have agreed as well, but remember the other main part of the Transformers is that they are in a War a battle of good vs. Evil... more or less.I really wouldn't say
cars that turn into robots
quite equals up

They also see them as brand images too, so they don't want themselves connected to the Transformers.they're just f'ing toys

Which is the reason why they don't want to be associated with anything war related.Which I find very funny seeing as it was the Germans, along with Hitler, that created the VW!
True there would have been toys....but if it was used in the movie then it would have been a shown all over the world a VW licensed character that Transforms into a War Machine in a big budget movie. That's why we wouldn't have ever seen VW in the movie even if Bay wanted to use one... unless he used a old one which would could have sparked legal issues as well.It doesn't change the fact they're just toys
the reson is because they got a HUGE lawsuit back in 2000 i think from holocaust survivors ..Which is the reason why they don't want to be associated with anything war related.
Now that you mention it I think I remember hearing about that lawsuit during that time as well.the reson is because they got a HUGE lawsuit back in 2000 i think from holocaust survivors ..
