Burn Notice

I see. Thanks

I've actually changed my mind on Coby Bell. I love the subplot. Instead of giving Michael a sidekick, they seem to be introducing a burnt spy, trying to find the person who burned him, with Michael's help, without realizing Michael burned him.

I actually think Michael 'burning' him is a stretch and way too easy to see the resolution already. We all know that Mike didn't go in there knowing that there was a fall guy for what he did and that is obviously going to come up and there's going to be a moment where we don't know if he believes Mike or not... then it turns out that he does, or Mike does something by episode's end that proves himself.

Then they both swear that after stopping the big super bad they're trying to find, they find out how to stop the shadow whatever it is that keeps burning spies to have desperate people working for them.

I think Michael Ironside's role was too small. I think Michael is being set up, a test of loyalty. I think Ironside is alive and Coby Bell is working for Management.

Hell yeah! BurnNotice_USA wrote the following on their twitter:

Breaking news! Early ratings are in and....BURN NOTICE OPENS TO ITS BIGGEST SEASON PREMIERE EVER!

& Nix provided a link to the ratings from tvbythenumbers. Basically, Burn Notice owned everything.

Decent first episode, I like the set up for Michaels new overreaching storyline and it was hilarious the way he was no sooner out and Fi and Sam had dragged him into a situation that saw him facing off with bikers using two Mac 10's! :D Also Fi on the bike.

Looks great! I like where they are taking the story with Coby Bell.

Yeah. Michael Ironside needs to come back. Michael Ironside rocks.

Even if the character IS dead, bring him back as a zombie dude.

Already loving the setup to this season. Michael's officially back with Management, so I hope we finally learn a bit more about just what that organization is and how it works. Plus, his new boss is Bunny! Totally better than Caprica Six or Frasier's dad. :awesome:

I'm interested in seeing where the Coby Bell subplot goes. I hope it's not as predictable as Gilpesh said, although I could very much see it going that way. What would be awesome is if they have that confrontation and Bell's character decides not to trust Michael specifically because he's a little too much like Michael. He could see Michael as just another pawn for Management and decide, much like Michael did in several seasons now, that he wants nothing to do with him unless it involves bringing "his" organization down. That would set up a nice, morally ambiguous rival for Mike. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more gray to Mike's situation too, and a genuinely good ex-spy who's going after Mike the way Mike went after the people who burned him would do that.

In a way, Michael has become Victor. Like I said though, I hope this is an elaborate set up from Managment and that Iron Side is still alive but in on it..

I'm not sure how Ironside could still be alive since we saw him get ripped up by at least a dozen rounds. And these were high caliber rounds that probably put holes the size of a fist in the human body.

As much as it was a waste of a great actor, I'll cry foul if he shows up again.

Awesome opener.

Michael with a couple of Mac-10s is a scary dude.

I like how he confided in his mom about his fears about turning into someone like Simon. I really hope he comes back. Their confrontation lacked a real resolution. The kind where Michael puts a bullet or two in him.

Also, how exactly did Michael burn Jesse? Did he use his login and password to download the files or what?

I think Michael said Jesse was just the fall guy if anyone stole any info from that place.

Great way to start out this season. I am intrigued to see where it goes.

I thought Mike said that it was Jesse's job to maintain systems security at that facility or something like that. So because Mike stole files and they couldn't catch him, they settled for punishing the guy who failed to stop him. That's how I understood the scene, anyway.

Squibs. Michael's used them himself to fake shootings, hasn't he?

Squibs? Thats what you're going to go with? That would be incredibly cheap of the writers seeing as how the bullets were also tearing up the tent, ground, and everything else.

And then there was there big boom.

Now, if we hadnt seen him get shot, there wouldnt be a problem. In fact, it would be par for the course for him to show up. And his only injury is a limp caused by the bullet in his leg. :p

You're probably right because I was half asleep during the closing scene.

Do you think Jesse will become another member of the team or part of Mike's growing list of enemies ?

what a waste of michael ironside, just like lapaglia last season

I don't know. I think he'll probably start out as an enemey and then maybe switch to either a recurring client who helps Mike learn more about Management's organization or a full-on ally. Bell's been signed for a lot of episodes this season, if I recall correctly.

Personally, I wouldn't mind another team member. Fi, Mike, and Sam have great chemistry, but Bell's character might fit in pretty well. Granted, he could throw everything off too, but the creators behind the show haven't steered us wrong yet, so I'm confident they'll find a way to make it work.

Man, so dissapointed Ironside had such a short part. But still loving the series.

Whoo! Saw this on Twitter:

via @MichaelAusiello: Tim Matheson & Garrett Dillahunt have signed on to reprise their roles as “Dead” Larry Sizemore and jailbird Simon.

I heard about Dead Larry returning a while back , I didnt think that Simon would return again until next season considering he is locked up somewhere.Anyway Im glad that Simon will be back I think Garrett is a great actor.

I wouldn't mind seeing the team expanded either , but no more than two new members. To bad they killed off Victor because he would've made a good addition to the team. Or maybe not because the team would leave a huge body count all over Florida.:woot:
