Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

Hopefully next year, they cut the last-gen versions completely and focus all attention on the ps4, pc, and xbox.

The PS3/360 version of the game was being developed by a different developer so it wasn't taking away from anything in regards to the current gen versions.

Oh that's right. Well still I'm of the mind that the 360 and PS3 games should be put to rest. I understand there's still tons of people out there who only own those systems though.

There's no campaign for the PS3 and 360 versions of the game. The PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions still have the full campaign.

And this thread hasn't been updated in over a month. *sigh*

When does this come out?

Wow, so little activity in here considering how close it is! I liked B Ops 1 & 2.

COD is an interesting phemon like that. It's a mega franchise, but internet fandom basically shuns it

I'm a huge cod fan but this is the first time I will not be getting the game. AW just got to be too much for me with the jumping around. Too much futuristic the jumping and now the wall running. I always felt cod too should give a couple years in between games, some breathing room. But with the $$$$ they make that won't happen.

Battlefront will be my multiplayer shooter this year, I will see what cod does next year though.

I'm somewhat interested in this, but that's largely in part to being able to choose a female protag.

I'm definitely waiting for the reviews to see how the single player story campaign fares.

It seems like a lot of it is similar to destiny in some ways apparently.

It borows from it certainly but it still feels like CoD at its core, but yeah the "super" abilities are Destiny inspired at least and it also has elements of titanfall and Crysis. These games all nick ideas of each other these days and it certainly makes for a better CoD than the previous few installments I shall vouch for that.

Was surprised how much I enjoyed the beta so looking forward to this Friday, along with 4 player co-op and a high level of customization this could hopefully be a return to form for the series. CoD will always have that stigma of "being CoD" but if its a good game it doesnt matter, we shall see.

This is the first COD I'm skipping out on since COD4. I think I'm burned out on the series for a bit. If I find it on sale about 6-8 months from now, I may pick it up?

This is the first COD that I've been genuinely excited about in a long while.

The campaign is now "off the rails", with large open areas allowing for actual tactics. It's also got co-op which is always fun. Add the fact that the campaign is actually a respectable length, and I'm pretty happy. Plus, the multiplayer beta was fun, and Treyarch's zombie mode is always the best.

All that being said, this game will likely just be a place holder for me until Battlefront comes out later this month, haha :)

Yeah the good thing is, even if CoD doesnt do it for me in the full game, Battlefront and Ranibow Six are just round the corner.

But after a break for a couple of years and judging by the beta I think I will like this CoD a fair amount though.

Tons of stuff has been leaked in regards to content. Apparently there is a "Nightmare Mode" in which you play through the campaign with zombies replacing the regular enemies, and there's also the return of Dead Ops Arcade. Seems like they're really stuffing a huge amount of stuff in this one.

So i hear that Black ops 3's review embargo lifts hours before the game releases.....

So I totally agree with some of the posters in that I definitely need to take some time off with this one, this will be the first CoD game I will be skipping out on. Hoping since I believe it is Infinity Ward's turn in the franchise's cycle that they top this one.

I am hoping for one of two things when IW returns:
a) reboot the Modern Warfare franchise with a new game and also re-release the original trilogy on next gen.
b) a sequel to Ghosts

I said I wasn't going to buy this, but there's so much stuff in this game that I'm just finding out about. I had no idea about online co-op, zombie campaign mode, etc.

I dunno, I'm gonna think about it, but it's sounding very tempting now. :hmm

If I do end up buying this, it will be for the zombies.

Oh, that sounds like fun!

The more I see of the game the more I like it. There's some videos breaking down the gunsmith features which are very cool.

BLOPs won me over with the weapon selection and challenges. This game looks like it has that by 3 fold, especially with all the customization you can do. I even saw a "create a weapon challenge" menu in the gunsmith mode on top of making your own camos and shareability. I'm just hoping the maps are better than the 2 from the beta.
