Considering Green Lantern was a huge failure on every level, tieing MoS to it will only hurt MoS.

Bassett's Waller sucked too. Everything about that film missed the mark completely.



I do like the idea of the Tim Daly cameo... that's about it.

SR's cameo's made sense because it was a celebration of Superman's past. MoS is a clean break and reinterpretation of Superman for the future. IMO, they should avoid the cameos like Batman Begins did.

Yup. I'm pretty sure that's what DC/Warner Bros. wants. I know that they wanted Bale to return for a JLA film but he and Nolan don't want that.
Green Lantern was supposed to be the beginnings of the shared universe from what I know.

I disagree. They asked Nolan to godfather the series and, in his producer capacity, he has been pretty vocal about Superman being most successful if he is given an independent series like Batman. I doubt Nolan would have decided to put his name on the franchise if Warner Bros possessed a completely different idea of what route the series should take. I think Nolan's role in the series suggests that Warner Bros. has decided to spend time developing their heroes independently at least for some time into the future. If the Avengers breaks box office records, they will probably do a 180 though. However, I think they currently trust in Nolan's creative judgment. Their only current attempt to build a superhero franchise without him has been a huge failure.

Cameos by Superman-writers or creators? Sure. Give creators Siegel and Shuster a little nod somehow by using those names or something. And Reeve should get a special nod too out of respect, but nothing forced or too big.

Character- and name-cameos. Lex for sure, if he's not in it. M. Edge and B. Manheim should pop up and BrainIAC should be hinted at too, but I'd prefer it if they didnt use that name.
